2018 World Cup to be relocated?

With the ongoing tensions in the Crimean region, and Russia's subsequent suspension from the G8, is it time to look at other hosts for 2018?

If not then what exactly would it take for FIFA to pull the plug?

If the decision was made, where would they realistically relocate it to? They wouldn't give it to England after all the allegations of corruption, Germany and France have both hosted it recently, and I don't think there are many countries with the infrastructure. Spain, USA and Italy would be my picks, or maybe Australia if they're continuing the theme of taking it to non-traditional footballing countries.

I think both 2018 and 2022 should be relocated.

As far as 2018 goes I think it should be held somewhere in Europe, or the surrounding area, since the region is due to host one. So England, imho, would be a very good option (especially since it hasn't hosted one since '66). But if it is moved from Europe I do think that the US is a good option since, like England, it has more than enough venues in place to host it on short notice and without much fuss.

Id be willing to bet they'll pull 2022. There's going to be a propaganda war against ISIS/ISIL etc and Qatar wont come out of it clean. I know FIFA think they are bulletproof, but they'd rather respond to 'Move 2022 as Qatar is too hot' than 'Move 2022 as Qatar is funding muderers'. Could even be moved by the end of the year. Just my thought. But because that will cost FIFA, Id be surprised that they'll move 2018 as well - they will just hope that it all sorts itself out in the next 3-4 years.

Agreed, You can't get backhanders from construction firms if there isn't anything there that needs constructing...... or a less cynical view might be that having the World Cup in Great Britain won't have any lasting legacy as we already have all the required ingredients and very strong leagues.

Fcuk it lets give it somewhere nice for a holiday like Cyprus and then we can enjoy the pool after we bomb out after 3 games
