WhatevsSanguine Agreed in general, but it is the case that all 4 World Cups held in South America (as well as both in Mexico) have been won by South American teams.
Not sure i buy into the it's in South America so only a South American team can win
- Only been hosted in SAm (+ mex) 6 times.
- The beaten finalist's in the last 4 hosted in SAm where European
- Brazil had a period of domination between '58 and '70 winning it 3 times out of 4. Two of those hosted in SAm. Is it a good team or location or a combination?
- Three of the finals where before we showed the rest of the world how to play football in '66(not sure how competitive the earlier comp was compared to what it is now)
Plus as Papes says travel/climate was more of an issue in earlier competitions

Unbelievable JeffRoyal Prince Côte d'Ivoire
Nice easy group (Colombia, Greece & Japan), then who knows where they could go should they progress? They have some real attacking talent (Drogba, Gervinho, Toure & Doumbia), are used to playing in the heat, and will go for it in every game with nothing to lose. My main worry would be defensively, as they are far from solid at the back but do grind out results.
I understand there are many far more likely winners, but I for one will not be ignoring the white elephant in the room at 150/1.

Nice easy group? you obviously don't know much about international football then. Out of all of the groups this one is the most competitive, any of these four teams could go through and IMO Ivory Coast are the outsiders due to their shocking defending and Overrated attack. Colombia are a great side, albeit they're not proven on any big stage yet. Greece are again a very good side with a few great players and well organised, they also have a very sturdy defence. Japan are underrated, they have some great players going forward and in midfield such as Kagawa, Inui, Kiyotake, Honda etc. However their defence is a bit shaky.
This group is anyone's for the taking, I would say Colombia to top it followed by Greece.

Runner-up: Brazil
Surprise package: Chile (It's their continent so can handle the heat, already put on a great performance at Wembley recently. Dark horses for me.)
England: Group Stages
Top Scorer: Suarez/Neymar. Both with 6.
