Zip Happy with the draw for Wales and England. Thinking about heading to Baku for the game v Switzerland with my lad who is piling on the pressure and wants to go.

Make the most of it while you're in a top competition

Oh I know. Just delighted to see Wales there. A few years ago I told my boy to support England in the football as I didn’t want him to go through the frustration I had over the previous 40 years with Wales. His response was John Terry, Ashley Cole, Wayne Rooney. No chance. He was adamant it was Wales for him.

Whichever one he chose, I’m sure he’d be used to disappointment now, especially when you add Reading into the equation

Good on him not glory hunting though (if you can call it that with England)

Reckon most likely will be England, Croatia, Serbia and Czech Republic. Seems odd to get the other qualifier from the qualifying group in the same group stage.

And as already pointed out - Group F

:D Yes I did admire him for it and as you say as a lifelong Reading fan he is going to get used to disappointment.

Surprised no-one has noted that if England when Group D, probable with home advantage - their "prize" is a trip to Dublin to face the runner-up of Group F.

Runner up will see them play runner up in Spain's group so probably Sweden or Poland. Even finishing 3rd will likely given an easier 2nd round tie than winning Group D.

Does third go through to the knockout stages then? I thought it was just top two

Top 2 from each group and 4 best 3rd place sides go through to the last 16.

Only 8 teams drop out at the group stage.

It's a bit of a farce as it drains the quality from the 2nd round.

With Russia being banned by WADA for 4 years today, I assume they will have to be removed from Euro 2020 and hosting rights removed from St Petersburg?

Looks like it will just be the World Cup in 2022.

Despite the ban, Russia will be able to compete at Euro 2020 - in which St Petersburg will be a host city - as European football's governing body Uefa is not defined as a 'major event organisation' with regards to rulings on anti-doping breaches.

Ah makes a bit of a mockery of it all then. Lump on Russia to win it then.

To be fair, going by their results, there's not exactly a huge amount of evidence that the Russian football team has been taking performance enhancing drugs any time in the last few decades.

Good work 8)

Saved a pretty penny On those tickets, meaning more money to try and get to the R16 and 1/4 matches

Wonder if this will be affected by Coronavirus? Surely will be in some way at this rate with the number of foreign games being called off/behind closed doors
