Snowflake Royal Tulip's adopted nation does play good football and can still win so its a bit different for her.

You have two teams, one is dreadful to watch and the other decent, you're going to quite easily fall on the side of wanting entertainment over dreadful victory.

Yes, fair assessment.
I also love the Oranje support, their nutty orangeness makes me proud. It was the country going mad after the win in 1988, that first got me interested in football in the first place. I still expect Spain to win it though, most impressive to watch.

Worries now about the selected referee. Felix Zwayer was done for match fixing about 20 years ago. He served a 6 month ban for his part but was allowed to continue as he brought the matter to light which resulted in a life ban for German referee Robert Hoyzer.

The issue though stems from some ******* stupid remarks made by Jude Bellingham after Dortmund were beaten 3-2 by Bayern in 2021 when Zwayer made some errors in the game.

Stupid of UEFA to give him this game as all this will do the rounds again and make it awkward for both them and the ref if mistakes are made but it is what it is and he must have been one of the better refs at the tournament to get the gig.

Really hoping that it all works out and there's no fall out in any direction.

Germans hate the Dutch (understandable) more than the English, right St.P?

A brilliant excuse from the beaten side tonight that the ref was dodgy.

I gather though that he has done 3 matches in the tournament and been impressive and that is why he got the gig.
Anthony Taylor on the other hand has been his normal self.

They are mostly supporting the Netherlands as the team most likely to beat the Spanish (still smarting from losing in the quarters). Or so the Dutch media are reporting anyway.

The hatred is more Dutch towards Germans than the otherway isn't it?

England have a slightly higher win_expectation than the Dutch based on actual numbers that matter

The Dutch media are hardly unbiased in this situation. I reckon if English press did the same thing we'd show the German fans that agreed with us

Not really no, it's mutual but has subsided over the years.

Quite likely but the Dutch fans have made a huge impression on the Germans, with their orange marches and good humoured congregations.
100,000 Dutch have crossed the border to Dortmund today, an invasion.

Just wait until next April when the tulips come up and the Germans will be able to read the messages the Dutch are leaving.
