AthleticoSpizzThe shame on the English Premiership deepensWinston Smith 3 Englishman score for Wales. A small part of me feels proud in that.
Well done Wales and your championship (and below) players

Although this bit is of course rubbish. It's only Gunter and Robson-Kanu who don't play in the Premier League (from those that actually play regularly).
It really does show what can be achieved without the top talent that people think you have to have to compete though (it can obviously help!).

Winston Smith I liked the short interview they did before the Iceland game (or maybe elsewhere) where they explained how they think the mentality of Icelandics are different. 'if you don't know someone in the national team, then you know someone who know's someone'. They are suggesting that mentality makes everything feel achievable in all walks of life, nothing is out of your reach.
you could easily find another small nation and prove that this mentality doesn't exist in a similar scenario but still, I quite like it,

Ian Royaldouble d Belgium aren't over-rated at all. World class team with world class players
I was thinking earlier, that between them Belgium and England have rather a lot of their best players at sides in England who have choked this season.
Spurs - contrived to finish third in a two horse race by utterly bottling the last few games
Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Dembele, Walker, Rose, Dier, Alli, Kane
Chelsea - defended their title by being a 10th placed shambles
Hazard, Courtois, Cahill,
Man City - great squad, finished 4th
Hart, Sterling, Denayer, De Bruyne
Not exactly the kind of season you want to take into a major international tournament and suggests quite a lot of mental weakness.
Belgium have some fantastic players, although not as good or as many as people like to make out. I'm just not convinced they have a team. I mean, they lost to the first good team they played at the World Cup, lost to the only good side they played at the Euros and went out to Wales. The record of this 'golden generation' of theirs is remarkably like England's traditional performance.
