TBM
Will95 Last night we were sloppy and the San Marino keeper made a few really good stops, we really should be beating them by more than that if we wanna be anywhere near the best again.

Don't agree, we were always going to beat them - the players just wanted to avoid injury and save themselves for Sundays game. Only the fans want to see a double figure win, the players just want to get through it without any knocks

Agree but Germany beat them 13-0 a few years back, we should easily hit 8 without breaking a sweat if we're up there as a big nation.

I'm hoping that if I slag Gunter and Church off enough tonight something amazing will happen for my boys.

Comparing the results of two different teams playing against (essentially) two different teams is not going to get us anywhere, is it? In qualifying for the last World Cup, Germany beat the Faroe Islands 3-0 at home and 0-3 away. Ireland beat the Faroe Islands in the same group 3-0 at home and 1-4 away. That suggests Ireland are as good as Germany!

RoI 1 Germany 6
Germany 3 RoI 0

Powering forward and left the full back position exposed a couple of times as well as playing a couple of "hospital balls" to welsh midfielders.

Agree tbh with Starfish, didn't realise that win was so long ago!

Still hate that the top 2 teams now go through, the big nations now don't even have to break a sweat to get through now, a couple of slip ups (Spain against Slovakia) and they used to have to fight to go through. Now the big teams will fly through. Even worse is that even if one side did run away with it, 2 sides would compete for the play off spot, now they're all guaranteed at least that. + the first round of the actual tournament becomes a bit more pointless as the teams who would've been in anyway will just end up in the second round anyway, just more money for UEFA.

God knows where that came from

... poor bloke on SS5 will be mute before long - looks as if he'll just croak his way as far as 22:30 - Rushie and Jimmy Lloyds Savings-Bank are squirming a bit but seem to be handling the awkwardness pretty well as summarisers.

Shame they didn't have Sean 'Gravel-Gargler' Dyche on with them. 8)

...was quite a babe 'compering' previously on SS2 when JLH was also pulling a double-shift as the expert man on the Nederlands v Kaz match. Gave some good but guarded insight into the different management styles of Van Gaal and HIddink (Strict Teacher vs Friendly Uncle)

...shame he thought Gylfi was still a Spuds players though.....

Rarely get to see the football on Fridays - but most of my clan are out for the evening or retired early to the land of nod - so this 'ere new Euros scheduling has got something going for it.

Not strictly "Euro 2016" - in fact, nothing remotely Euro 2016 about it - but I can report that Federici was kept very busy at half time yesterday.

He was punting balls to the half way line for the Australian keeper to kick back at him. Feds first touch was woeful but his accuracy was good.

Bloomin' 'eck. Rooney's already fluffed 2 chances and we haven't had half an hour yet.

Why is this stinking fanny woman still picking Rooney?

Depressing all round.

The problem is, half the country and press think he's World Class, so Woy would get slaughtered for dropping him. And he's made the overrated moron captain too, making it twice as hard to do.

And whilst Sturridge is out there isn't really much in the way of other decent options. We've had a dearth of striking talent since Owen and Shearer played together.

I am wondering quite how bad Rooney will have to play to be subbed?

Apparently Roy was about to take him off and he scored!

That's three one-on-ones and a tap in he's missed in two games. Not to mention several harder chances.

What is wrong with the ape!?
