A bit of a soft penalty for me but once he's given it I'm not sure how he can justify not giving a red card under the laws as they are.

Not sure how Townsend can argue it wasn't a clear goalscoring opportunity either. He's ten yards from goal with the ball at his feet and just the keeper to beat. That's about as clear a chance as you can get.
