Just off to play golf with a group who are mainly of an age where we have seen England win a World Cup.
Rather than the positivity on here and all across the media the comments will be more about diving, how much they are paid, they haven't won anything yet,too many studio pundits talking bollocks,tattoos,etc with no semblance of pre-match nerves but great concern over putts longer than a gimme.

It is reassuring that hype doesn't reach everybody-I do fear for the health of some posters on here and more so if we end up playing again on Sunday rather than Saturday.

I have had a bet on the bookings-Lovren or Vida dragging down Kane, maybe Ali,Mandzucic or Young for diving?

Looking forward to the game and it will be interesting to see how the players react to pressure as the reality of a possible final gets closer.

Just an aside, in 1966 I was due to play cricket (nothing much was cancelled just for a World Cup final) but luckily on the day the game was called off after a bit of rain IIRC overnight.
The same had happened for the quarter-final v Argentina, one of the most explosive games I have ever seen.

I even found myself humming ICH earlier-I won't however be shaving my head, putting flags on the car or wearing anything St Georgish.
Mind you, if we make it to the final who knows?

Likewise, despite historically it being the teams like Romania (Euro 2000) where we've struggled. We should be able to overcome Croatia, the final will be down to who turns up on the day (if we get there)
