He did it a lot at Tottenham during bad spells especially under Conte. Dropped deeper to try and be more of an influence in the game

It's bizarre that we don't play that strength. Kane is one of the best passers of the ball on the planet. Why are we not trying to cultivate a Kane-Son like partnership with him and Saka?

Don't know about that, not much in it with Saka. Both are hampered by negative approach of the manager. They are both not expressing themselves as they would at club level.

He's Welsh, England giving away a penalty is about as close as he can get to excitement at this tournament.

His arm and body move towards the ball.
Had there been any appeals VAR would have had a long look at that. Probably wouldn't have been given but we have no idea how UEFA interpret that.

Gallagher - trying but lacking quality. Definitely an upgrade on TAA.

Bellingham - complete passanger. Not moving. Poor passing. Not closing.

Kane - slightly more effort than Bellingham. And lack of running is understabable from youraging No 9.

Foden - only player consistently making runs and findingspace and trying to take someone on.

Saka - always a threat if you try to put him in.

Rice - ok.

This team desperately needs a striker with some mobility to press from the front, Foden at 10 and someone who can provide some width down the left.

Right now I'd hook off Bellingham and Kane. Very disappointing.

Straight out the second we meet anyone half good.
