It’s called mate/yerba mate. It’s an unusual taste, it’s nicer if you put honey in it. Im not a massive fan but it’s part of someone’s culture and to to make a comment like Neville did is disrespectful and ignorant. You’d think being fortunate enough to have a career that affords him the luxury of being able to experience new countries and cultures he wouldn’t be such a narrow-minded twat.

No wonder people hate the English.

Precisely, it was stupidly ignorant, rude and just against general manners. If someone is taking the time to tell you something about their culture which is significant and important to them, then you politely accept and have something positive to say, even if it's "wow, that is really unusual, thanks for letting me try that".

Been watching coverage in the states for the last two weeks.

Ian Wright is an even bigger plonker in the US than he is over here. Alexei Lalas is a very strange individual. Clarence Seedorf looks like he just rolled into the studio seconds before the broadcast not even aware which two teams are playing. Ali Wagner is about the best commentary pundit on either side of the Atlantic.

The Telemundo guys are brilliant entertainment.
