Not sure why we haven't covered this one yet, but late last year it was announced that Italy & Turkey would jointly host it

10 stadiums from each country confirmed in the shortlist. the teams stadiums are:

Juventus, Milan, Verona, Genoa, Roma, Bologna, Fiorentina, Napoli, Bari, Cagliari
Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, National Olympic stadium, Ankaragücü (under construction), Bursaspor, Konyaspor, Trabzonspor, Antalyaspor, Eskişehirspor & Gaziantep

Can't bear the joint hosting nonsense. It isn't a non-competitive sports day where everyone has to win. Just give it to whoever is deemed the best host.

I don't mind it at all when its countries that that wouldn't typically be able to host it on their own. I like the idea of football taking place somewhere where they usually wouldn't get that kind of thing. Italy doesn't need to joint host it though. and I don't think Turkey really does either.

These days dual+hosting is usually down to the necessity of keeping the costs of hosting at a reasonable level, especially given the mess of restrictions and demands that FIFA inflict on hosts for a WC finals.

Couldn't disagree more. I don't agree with the FIFA "solution" to have a few games in South America and then the rest in Spain/Morrocco but as tournaments expand there is no harm in having 2 nations (3 at an absolute push) co-hosting a tournament if it geographically makes sense.

Wouldn't say that Italy/Turkey falls into that category. For me co-hosts should fulfill at least one of the following 2 criteria - share a border and/or the "smaller" partner wouldn't be able to physically host the expanded tournaments we currenty see.

So if Italy want to co-host, should be with Slovenia/Switzerland (or to bend the border rule slightly, Croatia) - would have no issues of an Austria/Hungary bid for a Euros or Aus/NZ for a world cup.

What I don't like is where the co-hosting seems forced like the Spain/Morocco/South America WC.
