alad Portgual deserve it, a small country as footballing nations go, they put out Holland and England, two pre tournament favs. They get no credit at all.

The way they did put England out will get no credit over here, who knows what some of the foreign press are saying about them?

They are a well organised team but not in the same class as the other two IMO. Apart from Ronaldo and Deco there isn't a great deal of flair in that side. the game against England was one of the worst games I've seen during the tournament.

Simao and Figo aren't 'flair' players

Portugals midfield is as cultured as anyones.

Figo is well past his best. He hasn't done anything in years. I've not seen a great deal of Simao but Portugal haven't been as pleasing on the eye as Germany, France or Italy for me.

There's no way, on current form, that Portugal deserve to be in the final. I'll be very suprised if they manage to beat France and on tonight's showing, even if they do, Italy are in a completely different league and will walk all over them.

Figo has done more than Zidane the last few years. Zidane has been woeful at times, yet two good games and people are back up his arse.

A midfield with Figo, Ronaldo and Deco is as technically gifted than any side in the world.

Zidane is ending his career and he's ending it the right way. That can't be said of Figo who has done nowt for years.

Zidane over a 30 odd game season I will agree with you that he's struggled at times. But this is his swansong and he's putting the performances in, in the big games. Something you of all people should be respecting. Often the basis of your arguements is that they don't do it in the big games!

I think it's pretty clear that among the top sides, no one walks over anyone. Portugal showed against Holland that outplaying them isn't enough to beat them. However, I think they've been the least threatening of the semi-finalists. France will have to regress to lose. Their defence is just too good.

Are you honestly telling me you disagree with what I've said? You honestly believe Portugal have been the first or second best team in this final? You honestly believe Portugal, during this tournament, have so far shown that they have the ability to beat the Italians? Not sure what's bitter about stating facts alad.

A better question is "What will be the oldest thread that someone can dredge up to try and prove themselves right in some arcane argument?"

Do the Irish, Wlesh and Scottish need to learn how to loose too?

What about the South Americans who shoot players for scoring own goals.

The Germans were far from happy or complimentry about their team leading up to the WC in 2006, do they need to adjust their expectations.

All football fans expect more from their teams and get p*ssed off when things don't go their way. It's part of the football mentality around the world, not just in England.
