UEFA to challenge UK over free-to-air Euro Cup

by Skyline » 06 Jun 2008 15:28

BBC Report

On the one hand you could see it as just another money grab by UEFA.

On the other hand you can kind of see their point that maybe games like Sweden v Greece aren't necessarily of major interest to the UK public at large.

That's fair enough really - a large majority of games in any competition are of little to no interest to vast swathes of the public so taking up a Saturday evening with Sweden V Greece for example doesn't make sense.

The only games that you can argue for is any British side that qualifies as well as the Final and possibly the semis/opening match.

One month every 2 years, there's quite a few channels out there as well.
I'm not going to pay for it.
If it changes, I'll go down the pub and put on 2 stone.
