RG30 Jimmy Quinn sacked as Cambridge boss.

Floyd discussing on Friday what a rubbish manager JQ is, Alan Partridge argues passionately in favour of JQ. 3 days later, cya Jimmy. Floyd > AP 8)

Floyd who rates Chris Coleman, Spanish speLOLOL

Cambridge were heading down when Quinn took over, saved them. Next season, 1 game away from promotion, having already got Shrewsbury promoted from that league and taken Reading to a playoff final. He has had his best players sold without his say so from what their fans are saying and they are all absolutely gutted he's gone.

TerribLOLe manager.

RG30 Jimmy Quinn sacked as Cambridge boss. Rumours suggest it surounds the transfer of Rob Wolleaston to Rushden & Diamonds.

In what way? Did he oppose the transfer. In which case he would have resigned. Unless he called the chairman a cockmuncher of course.

Some form of a bung is being touted on 1 message board I read;

Initially I was shocked, but after hearing why he has supposedly been sacked then it had to be done if true.

Harry Redknapp/Mike Newell/Sam Allardyce accusations are flying around concerning the transfer of Rob Wolleaston to Rushden, which could leave us in an even bigger mess. If it's true, then I've lost all respect for the man, despite what he's done for the club in the past 18 months.

SETANTA CUT BACK ON NON-LEAGUE GAMES – 16/6/08

Setanta Sports are cutting back on coverage of the Blue Square Premier by almost a third - but have told non-league clubs they will not be left out of pocket. The broadcaster will reduce the number of live games from 72 to 50 with Thursday night games being cut out altogether. But each club will receive £8,000 for the first live game - up £3,000 on last year - and £13,000 for every subsequent match. Every club will be guaranteed at least one home TV game and Setanta have confirmed that away tems will continue to pick up £2,000 per appearance. The blow has been softened by the news that Setanta have won the rights to show FA Trophy games next season. The rights had previously been owned by Sky, who broadcast only the final, but Setanta have pledged to give the competition comprehensive coverage. It is believed the decision to cut back on league games was due to problems with fixture selection last season. With clubs and fans unhappy about fixtures being moved at short notice, Setanta officials were finding it increasingly difficult to organise live games and decided that ending mid-week broadcasts was the only option.

I hope they don't pick any Torquay games. Cost us the season last year.

There have been issues regarding who plays where next year, with Boston being demoted again, Halifax going bust and Nuneaton Boro being demoted and made to change name.

The BSP and BS South & North line ups are now confirmed so shouldn't be too far away.

4th July

Apparently - that's the latest date the CONF fixtures are due out

- the fixtures for the next leagues down (Southern & Ryman) may not be out for up to two weeks afterwards - last season in particular the BlueSq. Southern fixture lists were out very late, due to it being a new chap working them out and one team withdrew (Slimbridge) at the very last minute.

He then got a lot of flak from supporters and clubs in those leagues for some mind-numbing arrangements around Bank Holiday games and a few other 'querks'; such as scheduling Didcot to travel to the Isle of Wight for midweek match in December!

The leagues below those, try to wait a bit longer to avoid any possible clashes (groundshares & avoiding 'bigger' clubs playing in the local area etc).
Indeed some leagues even release their fixtures piecemeal to begin with (two months at a time).

I know that Mansfield and Torquay have been pressing for earlier release of dates - and there's a rumour that the CONF National ones may even be out later this week. 8)

Sad news for Nuneaton Boro, Boston being demoted even more lol. If only the PL or FL had the backbone the conference had. They really try to deter bad business management, good on them.

The fact that someone still employs Steve Evans is just as much of a crime. Would love to see Crawley go down.
