Huntley & Palmer
paultheroyal Step forward - David Moyes

Just had a cheeky fiver at 25/1 - wont get that price by the end of the night.

Very doubtful, if anything it will strengthen his contract negotiations with Everton. My money would be on a foreign manager, maybe Bilic if West Ham keep hold of Curbishley or either of Advocaat or Hiddink if they can be prised away

Agreed. The Geordie nation wants Shearer in charge of a team playing Arsenal-like football. If he can't be had, ability to deliver sexy football will be the number one criterion.

How they will persuade someone with a track record of achievement and playing orgasmic football to take a job which offers no money and Dennis Wise as a boss - after the transfer window has closed - is an interesting question.

As for Keegan, he was a crack football manager, up to a point. He was one of those men who, lets say, felt too much inside - maybe you know the kind. Went all to pieces on one particular mission, looks like it's happened again.

Stranded It would have to be somebody prepared to work within financial constraints laid down by a chairman looking to run the club as a business...mmmmm....

Nooooooooooo, take Nicky Hammond, he's amazing, he's good with numbers, he wears tracksuit bottoms to bed and everyfink.

Apparently he was sacked, so it's not the normal Keegan walkout because he can't take the pressure

What makes me laugh is this on the BBC website:

Newcastle are 11th in the Premier League having picked up just four points from their opening three games.

Considering 2 of those 3 games were against Man Utd (AWAY) and Arsenal (AWAY) i don't think 4pts from 3 games is actually that bad!

It's a shame really, especially as it was starting to look like Keegan and Wise were really getting on well together

Keegan is a quality manager and a clearly a top bloke, I feel really bad for him that Newcastle is such a farce behind the scenes.

The manager should be left to run the club. Mike Ashley is an absolute joke.

He's not been sacked according to the NUFC official site:-

"Kevin Keegan - Official NUFC Statement

NEWCASTLE United can confirm that meetings between members of the Board and manager Kevin Keegan were held both yesterday and today.

Kevin has raised a number of issues and those have been discussed with him.

The Club wants to keep progressing with its long-term strategy and would like to stress that Kevin is extremely important, both now and in the future.

Newcastle United values the effort and commitment shown by Kevin since his return to St. James' Park and wants him to continue to play an instrumental role as manager of the Club.

For the avoidance of doubt the Club has not sacked Kevin Keegan as manager."
