Avon Royal Not sure I'd know how to cope to be honest.
Would be like us getting relagated then losing 7-1 at home to Wycombe.

Yes, it was Colchester who beat Norwich, Avon was just making a comparison of what it would be like for us, Wycombe being the nearest, smallest rival.

Ian RoyalSchards#2 I'm wondering if this is the worst result any side has ever had in my lifetime. 7-1 at home in the first game of the season against a side you would be expecting to beat comfortably. The only rivals I can think of are:
Leicester 0-5 Bolton (first game of season and Leicester were relegated by a street)
Celtic 0-3 Inveress Caledonian Thistle
West Brom 2-4 Woking
It's only one game but I can't see Brian Gunn ever winning back the faith and respect of the fans.
Reading 6-0 West Ham? Being spanked by Premiership debutants, after a fairly good previous season? Ok not as bad.
Man Utd getting spanked by Saints in the top flight? that was pretty embarrassing...

Jackson Corner No one's mentioned Reading 0 Bristol Rovers 6 and it should have been 10! There fans deserve better fantastic support year in year out to be spanked 7-1 at home on the opening day is the stuff of nightmares.

Brighton 2 Bristol Rovers 8 in '73 when Cloughie was in charge. On MOTD as well.

Jackson Corner Sorry to be pedantic but it was the Big Match. Spurs beat Bristol Rovers 9-0 on MOTD once with a certain Colin Lee scoring four on his debut.

Terminal Boardom Didn't England beat Scotland 9-1 or something similar at Hampden in the 1960s?

Terminal Boardom But for home ground tonkings, one of the best was when we did Exeter 6-4 in 93/4?

Or how about Swansea away in 1989/90 (I think) the score was 1-6.

Mr Optimist Was there!!
A young Chris Coleman playing for the Swans and Tony Ella of TTB fame was arrested for shouting "you Welsh person"....!!
The locals were particularly revolting on the long walk back to the station that day. Super Trev did most of the damage (4?) if I remember correctly.
I've just realised that must be close on 20 years ago now...God, where has my life gone.

Royal Rother In case it went unnoticed Norwich actually won 4-0 away at Yeovil last night. Not a bad response.
