i was born in 1952....and dad took me to many a game at the lane and wembley just after the war.it was ,of course,in black and white,and i was bedecked in trousers curtailed above the knee.

So you'd have been 11 or 12 when he died. Not knocking your choice, he's a player I've read about and I'd love to have seen him play, but the players I liked when I was 11/12 aren't the players I like now.
