Brazil v England

Very rarely do I watch England friendlies but it should be a good game. Expect England to lose though.

I'll go for 2-2.

That said, we are defending pretty well so far. Wayne Bridge excellent.

I've been watching for two minutes and I just don't feel remotely interested.

Might whack a Natural World on.

Decent enough so far, though our two wingers have been cack so far. SWP does not cut it for me at this level.

What a pointless waste that was.

Only a couple of games left before the world cup finals and we don't see how players like Cahill/Warnock could do.

Jenas, bridge, SWP and Brown have all played before and have never been good enough to hold a place down. We may as well have played an experimental squad once it became clear that we couldn't field a first 11.

Indeed bridge and lescott have been what can only be described as gash so far this season. We should be playing players on form. Having said that who am i to have a pop at Cappello.

We defended very well.

But I'd ask what the value of 45 minutes of Cahill would be in a meaningless friendly in the middle east two months into the season, anyway.

Capello has 35 players or so to choose from already, and I hope he knows, with reasonable certainty, 80% of his squad by now.

nice to see my national team on free-to-air tv again.

Big up to the owner of the TADLEY flag.

Other than that, mediocre

I noticed the Tadley flag as well. As an ex Burghfield lad, seeing pondlife spell Tadley correctly is disturbing!

As somebody in the Mail said the winners were those England players NOT invovled.

Micah Richards has hardly kicked on the last year or so, but I'd hope Capello is at least considering him given Brown's 'performance'.

Is MR actually starting for City? we all know Fabio doesn't like picking players that aren't playing competitive football.

I liked the commentators being condescending about the Brazilian defence, then them shutting us out easily and us gifting them one (two central defenders standing and watching a header), should have been two (penalty). How braindead Brown thought it would be a good idea to chest the ball back to Foster is beyond me. Rudimentary tactics Brown: when in defence, with world class forwards sniffing about, play safe - welly it, head it off for a corner or throw or find a colleague. With care.

Does anybody think that Wes Brown would ever have got a game for England if he had been at Bolton or Blackburn rather than at Man Utd reserves for most of his career?
John O'Shea even gets in ahead of him at club level.
Talking of Man Utd players how ill-disciplined is Wayne Rooney?
I'm not talking about his behaviour this time but he ran about like a headless chicken and his passing was atrocious.
If he is supposed to be our best player we are in trouble.
