Germany v Australia [OFFICIAL THREAD]

by Barry the bird boggler » 12 Jun 2010 07:28

Looking forward to this one for some reason. Perhaps clinging desperately onto the hope that Australia might do the Germans, more likely though the prospect of possibly seeing Adam Federici warming up.

Backing the Aussies for this one, but Germany will obviously win (and yes, I'm deliberately tempting fate).

How can you choose? It's like having to choose between Pol Pot and Stalin.

Well at least Stalin was on our side for a bit.

I don't care whether it's in the national anthem now or not.

Think that this may well be the true Group of Death. Four good teams and would not be surprised about any two of them qualifying. My dark horses Serbia to come through and I do not rate Germany. But, they are Germany.

Never right off the Germans. They will prob still be in a match thread title in 3 weeks time.

New generation of talented Germans could really show their worth at the tournament with the likes of Ozil, Schweinsteiger & Muller all capable of good futures in the game. Australia seem to have left themselves short up front however, and with the fitness of Kewell still unclear,I think the Germans have enough about them to win the game.

I'm hoping for more than 2 goals. Anything else is unimportant. Too much running, running, running, not enough skill, not enough accurate shots so far.

Very disappointed.

Thesis stress

I just want to see some expansive attacking play. Hoping Ivory Coast, Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Cameroon and Holland add a bit of flair to the tournament.

Have also got high hopes for Chile but we'll see.
