Hoop Blah
havoc I refer you to SBers and Seals posts if you need a detailed explanation as to why you suck at the internet jay.

In addition

oxf*rd football that no one seems to be able to get used to because it's too light.

i'm not actually going to the effort of finding and posting the figures, but iirc the ball weighs about 5g less than the maximum weight set out in FIFA standards.

It's not the weight of the ball it's how it plays that's the difference. A ball can feel much lighter than another even though they weigh the same.

It's all about how it feels, bounces and flies through the air, not the weight. By all accounts it 'feels' light. Anyone who's played with a half decent new match ball and then kicked about a knackered old training ball (which all weigh about the same) will know exactly what they mean.

....errr yeah, the ball isn't too light, that was my point :? but thanks all the same Capt Save-a-Jay

speaking of which, LOL @ him bowling in now with his other username to contradict what he posted earlier.

Textbook.

PlasticRoyale couldn't hear the england supporters band so not all bad news....

What's wrong with the band? Providing support for the team that no other country does?

cos they are cnuts, and suck the life out of any crowd. plus they play teh great escape almost constantly, even when weve not escaped from owt.

...or when we are in a position that needs escaping from. Why play it when we are 2-0 up?

I read Chris England's book about the world cup in Japan, and he got to meet the band. They pulled out a printed scarf from the early 1970s featuring the faces on England stars of the day. the proudly claimed it was their "England Test", as only true England fans would know who all the players were. Fair enough, but they only knew 8 of the faces themselves. i.e. they are so stupid that they failed their own test of being England fans, but had no concept of how stupid it made them look.

You don't like the horns? Tough shit.

Can't stand the vuvuzelas myself...but you are right c'monurz this is South Africa's World Cup. Let them enjoy it.

My "beef" is with sound engineers for BBC and ITV - surely it's not difficult to turn the volume down on the pitch / stadium mikes, and up on the commentary?

Red button and selecting the five live commentary reduces the sound of those awful things by quite a bit.

BobKnows And may we never voice an opinion again in case we upset some sensitive souls. CHRIST.

Voicing an opinion = "I don't like the sound of the vuvuzela."
Imposing an opinion = banning them.

Neither of these is particularly acceptable behaviour from a guest, I'd say.

They were talking about this today on BBC Breakfast - while they could turn the sound down on the pitch recordings the loss wouldn't just be on the vuvuzelas but other atmospherics (refs whistle, match noise etc) so they've left it.

Only time I really notice them now is after a goal and thats more because there isn't any real discernable change in atmosphere.

Far more annoying than the vuvuzelas is all the fukking boring pcunts moaning about them all the time. Does it REALLY matter that much? Just enjoy the football ffs. If you feel they're going to annoy you, they will. If you concentrate on the game, you dont hear them, simple.

Only tending to notice the stupid things because the action on the pitch has been pretty dire in most of the games tbf :| I'd have them banned but can understand why they're allowed.

Seal Germany seemed to get the hand of the ball OK last night. Maybe the teams just haven't been playing that well yet.

I've played with it a couple of times and really have to say it's not that different to any other £50+ football. Same news story every world cup. YAWN.

As for the Vuvuzelas / transport issues. This the World Cup, the celebration of the global game. FIFA should be congratulated for their determination to take football to the world - far more inclusive than the Olympic movement ironically enough.

As a result of this, yes there are some issues, but this is Africa, what did fans expect? Japanese Bullet trains to the ground? It's like going to Delhi and moaning that it's a bit hot and busy.

I'm not a fan of the Vuvuzela's but at least they mean that the tournament has it's own identity and a bit of personality. In an age of soulless, identikit modern stadia (and fans), that is to be applauded. And seriously, are they really that annoying, or do you just like to moan about sh1t?

Spot on. Also anything that gives bell-ends like Hanson,Townhend et al sleepless nights is fine by me.

Not standing up for him at all, but the ball is different and is described as playing like it's lighter.

Too light? Probably not, but it's certainly different by all accounts. I just think you're attack of being ill-informed bollox was a bit over the top and wondered why you thought so. You still haven't really given any reasoning for it.

But well done for sounding big and clever!
