LUX
Baines Spain were excellent. Germany had been the team of the tournament and they barely got a sniff. I don't really like Spain and was hoping the Germans would win, but the almost complete control the Spanish had during the second half was awesome.

If you don't find that entertaining, I'm not really sure why you watch football.

agreed. Great entertainment.

I was for Spain, despite Klose being my favourite player in the tournament. Could we buy him? He's more or less past it now.

Pretty sure Snowball's got some stats to show that Shane Long's better than Klose.

I oxf*rd hate Spain. Both of the teams I wanted to win in the semis lost. Now I have to support the fupping Dutch in the final.

No fun, no fun at all.

Maguire Not really sure what to make of this one. Spain have stuttered but are clearly class at heart - Torress is holding them back though. Germany have been excellent yet still strike me as vulnerable at the back. No Thomas Moeller this evening either.

Which way will it go? Who knows - I don't foresee a goal fest though so will take Spain 1-0.

Predictions don't come much better than this 8)

lol@people saying it was a shit game. Great contest but Spain totally deserved their win. Just a level of football above the Germans who did well to hang in there trading punches as long as they did.

Wow - what a prediction 1-0 Spain? I don't think they had won 1-0 in this tournament before this game.

You mean I got it exactly right? And said Torres was holding them back, who was subsequently dropped? And that Spain have stuttered but are clearly class at heart, as they proved tonight?

You'd give up your favourite train set for such a prediction, you utter mong.

Blame Torres for that

Tonite's game was good enough, but Spain should've scored at least once more (pick 'em: the early header from Puyol; the Iniesta cross from the left that no one was running onto at the far post; and of course Pedro dithering/not laying off for Torres to ice it when they were 2-on-1 w/Friedrich ten minutes from the end)

Still a 1-0 prediction isn't amazing. I could have predicted that if my blind hatred of all things Spanish hadn't made me predict a German victory.

So in summary you didn't predict it. At all.

Congrats.

Y21_Royal Can't see Germany being as good without Muller but Spain's defence is creaky.

My prediction is a fairly tight game played mostly in midfield with a bit of magic from Villa deciding the match

Spain 1-0 Germany

RoyalChicagoFC Right, we're in the tenth minute and goalless

My sense has been that form won't hold and that Spain will win this --it's been that kind of competition

1-0 in the end

Spain are always leaving goals unscored, and in bunches --this much we know, and I hardly imagined myself breaking new ground here

I'm just calling 'em out on it...I mean, the better part of two hours of my life given over to the thing and all

Germany were just kinda not very good @ all tonite --in particular after their destruction of Argentina et al-- and yet one lucky bounce of the ball would've seen 'em all playing on for another half an hour, etc

Spain should've spent at least the last ten minutes doing a victory lap, and my early sense is more of the same in the final

Dunno 'bout anyone else, but that's just about my idea of edge-of-the-seat Sunday afternoon mid-July fun, swelter notwithstanding

Germany didn't exactly seem keen to make two-way traffic of things, and I expect the Dutch to play it in like fashion

So shame on them in advance

Didn't watch the match but am disappointed in the Germans. Why didn't they go for it? Was it just the whole 'Iniesta and Xavi tippy-tap it to each other all game' thing which won the Spanish the Euros two years ago and won Barca the champion's league against United?

To beat the Spanish you need to piss them off. Like Inter did in the CL Semis vs. Barca. Actually saying this has made me feel more positive about Sunday. The Dutch have people like Van Bommel who can really tackle and irritate the hell out of the Spanish.

I think I can go to bed with a bit of hope now.

From a coaching perspective, Spain are a delight to watch; I just love to watch the ball retention, rotation and movement. It is death by a thousand cuts. It must be physically and mentally exhausting playing against that and I think that the Germans were inhibited right from the off today.

As I rate the Germans above the Dutch, I cannot possibly see how Oranje can get enough possession to win on Sunday. Pedro, Xavi and Iniesta were just immense. Torres? Who he?

Ian Royal Spain just don't ever do anything. They were so dull.

Massive  at this this. Yeah, they do nothing, absolutely nothing...except defend like troopers to completely nullify the German attack and have the ability to slice their way through the opposition making them run round in circles. Totally hopeless

A cracking game all round. Spain to win please!
