Svlad Cjelli
frimmers3 there is an idea mooted to stop replays in the f.a cup to regenerate interest in the competition... i imagine it would mean extra time and penalties...but why not bite the bullet and say that in the event of a draw after ninety minutes,if a lower league team is involved, the away team goes through?

Because you'd get lower league teams playing with 10 defenders and stifling the game.

you mean putting the onus on the big boys?

Still ignoring the money issue? Burton Albion made nearly a million a few years back playing United twice. Exeter City made £600,000 from two ties against United.

right..and the bulk of that revenue did not come from the "home" leg..it came from the away leg.and neither of the teams you cite furthered in the competition with regard to potential riches in future rounds.

Stevenage fan punches Stevenage player more like, unless he managed to nick a scarf as he ran on the pitch!

Svlad Cjelli Stevenage player laid out by (presumably) a Newcastle supporter after the match.

Is it a Newcastle fan though? I had heard that it was a Stevanage fan who demanded the players shirt; player gives him some advice on sex and travel, so gets punched..... there is youtube footage that seems to show he has a red & white scarf, and he runs into a load of other fans also in red and white.

My mistake - I just assumed it was because I couldn't think of a reason for a Stevange supporter to deck a player from his team.

I dunno, I'd love to deck Brian Howard

Police confirm it was a Stevenage fan.

In that case, he's even more of a knob.

Indeed, but a football player cannot turn around to a supporter and tell him to f..k off. A simple "I'm sorry but no" would have done. He shouldn't have got punched, but I'm less sympathetic if that is what he said to the chap.

Because I'm less sympathetic having heard about the players response to a fan asking for his shirt? As I said, no one should have got punched, but if you turn around to someone and tell them to f..k off, in any case, you're less likely to get a pleasant reaction. The players reaction was thoughtless, and provoked a reaction. (an unjustifiable reaction). So yes, I'm less sympathetic in this strange world that I live in.

Tell me about the world you live in; is it a world full of grassy hills and daisy's, unlocked front doors and free love?

its footballers therefore there is always a girl involved

is it too difficult for them to not end up sharing the same girl - or is there not enough girls out there?
