Royal Rotherpea This is key, we spent quite a lot of money bringing the likes of Mills, McAnuff, Rasiak, Howard, and Cummings as a result of the money we recieved and we still almost got relegated.
Did we? I seem to have forgotten that!

I think combined for those 5 players we spent £3.5M

swansea jack C*rdiff were only paying 20k a week. Decent gamble especially with the numbers of shirts he sold.

Only?!? I would say £20K a week is far too much for a team that had recently come out of administration to pay a player.

Didn't stop Pompey paying Kitson and Lawrence 20K per week just days after the 20p in the £ CVA had been agreed. Beggars belief.

Big Foot Without labouring a much covered point, Rodgers was taking us down

In what way? We weren't in the relegation places and after a long learning period we were looking better.
Rodgers made a number of mistakes but given time and backing (from the players as well as board) I think he'd have eventually come good.
I don't think he was taking us down but I also don't think he'd have got close to the form McDermott did for the second half of the season.
