fester_royal Papering over the cracks seems to be our way these days.. Possibly why we keep getting black holes each summer!!

Is sonko really the answer to our desperation? Christ it'll be mackie next!!

Floyd's Viveash topic no longer looks so far off the mark.
I wish people wouldn't keep on about players being good enough to "do a job".
It's as if we are anticipating a relegation battle-we want players to play a big part, not just to do a job.

Our lack of cover also didn't help when the likes of Sonko wanted or had to play on. Both Doyle and Kitson had to play through injuries because of the lack of credible depth in our squad at various times.

That's an impressive leap of illogic. We're spending more than we earn because we're doing a cheap bodge job of replacing players. Wow.

Considering McDermott said at the last fans' forum he did that he thought Sonko's injury had affected him and he wouldn't sign him, I'd be surprised if we signed him now. If we do it smacks of desperation and strengthens my belief that he really didn't want Mills to go. I'll be interested to see what he says about it at the next fans' forum which should be coming up in the next month or so.

he looked alright today. he was a little shakey at times but also made some very good tackles. pretty much same old ibrahima sonko. on that performce and the fact we as a football club know him and what he's all about, and that he needs to get match fit, i think they'll have a deal on the table next week and they are also in talks with another defender, so fingers crossed. ideally you want these two in with a couple of weeks to settle in before the kick-off.

This thread has become the same old shit about half the fans wanting us to spend shed loads of money (e.g leicester).
Sonko's on trial, it's up to him to prove his worth. If he impresses, we'll sign him on (i'd guess) a cheap 1 year deal.
Even if he's not as good as before, he'll still be a good role model for the youngsters, and he's a good guy, always seems positive.
He said on sky sports that he's not concerned about money, just wants to play. That's a good attitude too.
I swear half the idots on this site haven't got a clue about football and would be the first ti complain if ticket prices went up to fund expensive signings. If you really don't like it, support chelsea or man city!!

To be fair. There are no players whom play for money, as they know the wages are not high...
