Everton spend £2m on 15 year old

by rhroyal » 03 Oct 2011 22:20

For a club as strapped as Everton, a bit of a surprise. That list of expensive teenagers is telling too; Michael Woods, Tom Taiwo, John Bostock, Dean Parett (who!?). Shows what a risk a signing is at that age. The only moderate successes on the list are Jermaine Pennant and Scott Sinclair, but Arsenal and Chelsea respectively made losses on them.

Something to do with his Argentinian club not being able to afford his medical bills and Barcelona stepped in and said they would pay for top treatment if he joined them.

It's about risk/reward, at £2m they only need to find one Rooney in the next 10 super-kids they sign up and they're in profit.
