Heart beating and breathing independently, recognising family and responding to questions. Sounds like he will be fine. Great medical effort. Probably won't play professional football again, but seems rather insignificant right now.

It's being turned into some world wide focal point for religious sentiment now. PURLEEEAASE. It was shock, people in the crowd clasping their hands out of shock and concern. No doubt some people are religious but please do not think that people will be battering down their local churches to get in when the pubs are open and football is on the screen.

I think the whole laying of shirts & scarves is a bit over the top. Fair play if he actually died, but come on, there's showing support and then there's just being silly.

My only real surprise here is that John Terry hasn't had his picture taken at Muamba's bedside

BBC News this morning reporting that his condition has been downgraded from "critical" to "serious". Got to be good news. Medics seem to be doing a fantastic job.

rob the royal Good to know that footballer's have them all the time, I was only wondering because I see that the Spurs players are all demanding them so it makes it sound like they never had one?

And regarding SADs I'm afraid that's not true, although in this case evidently it wasn't something that could be picked up by ECG there are plenty of causes for SADS that can be diagnosed by ECG and Echo - off the top of my head: Long QT.

SAD is just another name for "we don't know what happened" . And was just about to mention Echo. ECG doesn't necessarily catch things such as inflammed tissue or congental defects.

News just in: Queen abandons Jubilee Tour. "One doesn't think it right at a time a man is fighting for his life." Olympics now in doubt.

It's also just been confirmed that Munich was, in fact, 54 years ago now - time to man up and move on. Remembrance and respect is for pansies.

United games postponed after Munich -2
Liverpool games postponed after Hillsborough - 2

Bolton games postponed after a player spends a couple of nights in hospital - 2 and a half and counting.

The self pettying over grieving twats.
