watfordroyal Isn't it funny that the Queens tax collectors want to shut Rangers down cos you've not been very loyal to her purse!
As the banner says - We love HMRC!

blindedbythelights So if we discount Celtics title this season on account of there not being any real opposition/ 'gers point deduction can we also discount every trophy Rangers achieved via cheating over the last decade by living beyond their means

No, for a simple reason.
When Whyte took over Rangers had only one debt - of £18m - to Lloyds bank. Given that Rangers had made £13m in profit in the three years prior to Whyte's purchase it is clear that the club were not living beyond its means. An overdraft of £18m is perfectly manageable for Rangers and compares favourably with many other clubs.
The second part to this is the large tax case. A scheme that was widely used by industry in the last 10-15 yrs. It was not illegal. Where Rangers may/may not have fallen down is in the administration of this. If it was clear cut we'd have been banged to rights years ago. With hindsight Rangers could/should have managed this better. But the cards are stacked against this when HMRC have publicly said that even if Rangers win the tribunal they will appeal until they eventually get a favourable ruling.
PS - should Celtic give back their 9IAR trophies given that they systematically under declared crowds and distributed the cash among their directors (allegedly of course)? But if you know your history.....
