Birmingham Mail reporting McLeish will be sacked today

Yes. I bet it's announced as mutual consent.

He's gone. Said goodbye to the players this morning according to a 'tweet'.

Surely they will go after Martinez again? Didnt he turn them down last summer?

Surely he would do the same again this year? - he's building something at Wigan, and the Chairman loves him and wouldn't sack him

Maybe, but I would think Villa will still have the same opinion of him, so will go after him again, whether he would leave is a completely different kettle of fish.

They should go for the Atkinson father & son dream partnership, Ron & Dalien.

Gone for Curbishley myself, good at working within a tight budget, won't be bitching about available funds, proven track record in the prem, no job at present so likely to take it if offered.

McD is 12/1 in some markets apparently, he was 25/1 when Schards put his bet on Curbishley.

The only reason McD would be interested in Villa would be if the TSI deal didn't come off and SJM didn't give him a good budget to work with, I reckon. So I think 12/1 is ridiculously low personally.

They've still got a decent squad, their problem this season was often playing Heskey and Hutton on the wings.

Ideal Taking the villa job is like drinking a pint which someone pissed in.
It doesn't matter who drinks the pint, it's still tainted. Once you get a poisoned squad, they'll subvert you at any chance.

Whoever goes there has a massive job on their hands.

Same for England job.

Don't really follow Villa that much to understand what's going on behind the scenes, but when did the club become 'poisoned'?

O'Neill managed three consecutive top-6 finishes and a cup final. What went wrong?

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish turned down the idea of giving up managerial duties for a new role at Anfield, during talks with the club's owners, which sources say did not go well.
