I do hope we are giving serious thought to signing this kid, he's absolutely top class.

And according to Wiki only 1 booking in the last two seasons (91 games), pretty good for a big centre-forward.

Big? :|

he might be tall, but he's not the sort of target man physical striker that would get bookings. Looks like a sharp, clever goal machine...not an alan lee/henderson type unit forward who you'd expect to pick up countless bookings. Agree with the rest of the post though, sign him.

He looks great all round. Seems a very good alternative to Roberts and the right sort of player to learn from him and then take over his role at the club.

I'd probably take him for £1.5m, not for double and certainly not for 3/4 times that, which is apparently what Huddersfield want.

I could see up to £3m being just about plausible.

He reminds me a bit of Kerry Dixon.
It's all very well talking about signings but it will all depend upon the system that we play next season and therefore the type of midfielders and strikers that we need.

If they were knocking back £4-5m offers in January I would expect we would have to offer at least £3m, plus a decent add-on and sell-on to tempt them to part with him. They really rate Morrison, so I could see a possible deal involving him going the other way to bring the price down.

Ideally it would be good to see how he does in the Chump assuming Huddlesfield get promoted via the playoffs as any big money move would be quite a gamble considering the level he has been playing at. Unfortunately, due to the high stakes in Football, a club will probably take that gamble now.

No point breaking the bank for a player not even proven at Chump level. Not sure about Morrison being one of our top yongsters though. I think he will be surplus to requirements

Not to sound a bit sniffy, but I don't think £3-4m is 'breaking the bank' for us any more, or at least it shouldn't be if we're serious about being a Stoke or Fulham in five years time. By which time Rhodes will be 26 and reaching his peak.

Wait for him to score 15 goals before Xmas in the Championship, and he will cost us £7-8m.

We're already a central defender short and he's highly rated by the management and would provide excellent support as a fourth choice CB. It would cost a lot more to replace him than he is worth in the Huddersfield/Rhodes deal so I can't see them including him. Will be one of the standout centre backs in the Championship next season I believe (presuming he's loaned out at some point).

I think he will leave Huddersfield regardless of whether they clinch promotion

3 million would be a great bit of business for him.

God would I love to get Whittingham in as well!

So does Grayson who admitted that it would be impossible to stand in his way if a Premier League club came in for him.

If they go up another year for Morrison on loan there would be ideal. He's only 21, he needs a year at championship level before we make a decision.

Morrison looked very good on Sunday, mind you the Dons squad was so depleted it wasn't hard to.

Boss at work here in Manchester is a town ST holder and lives in huddersfield. Quite objective as fans go too. He is pretty resigned to Rhodes leaving regardless of whether they go up or not, and was telling me today that talk over there seems to be gathering pace with regards to Reading moving into pole position to sign him.

Reckons having watched him week in, week out the last few seasons that he would be able to step up 2 divisions and still score goals due to the rate of development he has shown there, and that he has a very good football brain on him and he will continue to improve. Last words to me were "all the guys that sit near me are thinking its going to be reading that get him, and would be a good fit for both".

Not exactly much to add to the rumour mill I know, but interesting to hear a view from the other side of the fence...
