aldershot town have never met reading in a competative fixture.ever. let alone a "couple of decades ago".leicsRoyal Lowest crowd of the day yesterday at Aldershot 1,196.
With an average spend per head of around £16 a few quid from sponsors and a bit of TV money, that's not a very positive outlook.
Hard to believe we were battling away with them a couple of decades ago when you compare our weekend:
A crowd of 24,000 with an average spend per head of around £30 a lot of money from sponsors and a sackful of TV cash.
Then again our top wage earner will be earning more in a week than all of Aldershots incomings!
The scary world of football.

Competative fixture? 1989, Freight Rover Trophy, at the Rec, David Leworthy scored, as did Martin Hicks with a peach of a header from the edge of the area. Into his own net. We lost. You never specified Aldershot or Aldershot Town. I believe I've been to the last 4 competative fixtures against Aldershot.
