wouldn't class as rivals anymore. But could get a bit hostile if we draw you in the cup.

Higher achievers than Reading historically but seem to be stuck at the lower levels.
Very well supported for a Div 2 side.
Not a big enough catchment area to sustain football in the long term above Div 1.
My late father-in--laws ashes were scattered at the Manor Road and I reckon he would have thought it funny to now be under a block of flats.
Older fans will havee enjoyed tthe meteoric rise from non-league whereas younger ones will only know them as a lower level club-a direct opposite of our club.

At the moment, as Delboy would say, you are the insignificant other.

But that could change.

Where the manor ground was is now a private hospital, even though it had seen better days we still miss the manor, what an atmosphere there especially night games with the London road in full voice

We don't own our ground either, we do not call it by its name, our former 'chairman' the bastard has said it would cost us £13 million to buy it and of course we don't have the money and we are tied to a 25 year lease :cry:

One of my favorite footballing memories is rubbish villa striker Marcus Allback twatting a practice shot into the car park and setting off an alarm.

A minute later, there's a call on the tannoy for the owner to come forward ...

No Fixed Abode Oxford United = 1 major trophy
Reading = 0 major trophies

Achieved by cheating. The owner the most corrupt man in history stole from pension funds to subsidise his football team.
How many 2nd tier Championships have they won? Whats there highest league placing? How many years have they spent in the football league? Check your history Reading founder members of div 3 south in 1920 have never finished lower than 14th. Oxford joined the league in 1962 and dropped out in 06. Swindon also joined the league with us in 1920 but have twice finished bottom of div 3 south, before relegation and were re elected something Reading have never had to do like go in to administration or have points deducted. Something are local rivals have both had to endure.

What a pompous post.
Have the good grace to acknowledge where Oxford came from (Southern League) and that both they and Swindon have both won a major trophy compared to our Simod Cup (who outside of Reading knows what that was?).
Also we were very close to going out of business ourselves don't forget and but for the efforts of Roger Smee (and those of us fans who put money into collection boxes) could now be Thames Valley Royals playing at Didcot.

Not pompus fact. Yes we were close to going out of business but we didn't. Southern league is still non league what ever way you look at it.
