Haven't seen much African football before, just watched the Nigeria vs Bhukino Faso. The difference between the quality of the technique & skill with the quality of composure and decision making is huge. Half of them seem to be as batshit crazy as Bikey or as all over the shop as Khumalo. Just way too eager.

And what the hell was the Ethiopian goalie thinking!

that's what was noticeable about Zambia's triumph last year, built on discipline and keeping a (relatively) cool head

Tunisia v Algeria: What I thought might be a spicy Maghreb derby turning out to be the football equivalent of valium.

Nice goal from the Saffer sub. They've pissed all over Angola so far.

What a pathetic game of football. 29 fouls in the 1st half, and the 2nd has started the same.

Worse than watching Reading ffs.

And what a bunch of cheating tarts diving if an opponent comes within a yard of them.

A bit of a farcical end to the Algeria v Togo match.

Togo winning 1-0 with three minutes left, only for an Algerian forward to run into the goal and snap the goalpost.

After some rather daft efforts by the groundstaff to somehow prop the goal up, they decide to replace it. All this takes about a quarter of an hour.

A rather confused referee then decides to play an additional 13 minutes because of the delay, even though there were only 3 minutes left when the post got broken.

His blushes have been spared somewhat by Togo adding a 2nd goal.

My boys Ghana doing well. Fingers crossed they get their first Cup since 1982. I've been a fan ever since I went to England v Ghana friendly a couple years ago.

Ok in all honesty you haven't missed much. At least judging from the handful or so matches I watched. If it's a Ghana v Nigeria final might be worth checking out (this Sunday 8pm)

Sod it, The Burkinabe are through to final against Naija

I wonder if those pre-paid international phone cards with all the African flags on are actually worth the hassle?
