The Vase game between Ascot United and Newport IOW has now been switched to Ascot's ground next Saturday after initial plans to play at East Cowes. Fingers crossed for improved weather this week to allow it to go ahead.

Royalist I see Maidenhead have the begging cap out for a 500 seater stand.

Is it really needed? Averaging just over 300. Does the club really have ambitions of playing conference premier football otherwise it just seems a vanity project! I remember Leyton FC building a very impressive stand behind a goal fully seated when they averaged 50 fans!

Not linking what the Leyton chairman was up to and Maidenhead at all by the way!

Just trying to improve the facilities and attract a few more fans throught the gate. Have you seen the current 'stand'? Its awful and puts people who want to sit down off attending games. Not really had a Massive crime is it, simply trying to progress as a club.

Envy from UNITED'S pub-league neighbours. Royalist can expect a visit from the #mms and then we won't be seeing him for a LONG time 8)

Not envy at all. Yes Maidenheads ground could do with a bit of work but i don't get why non league clubs build up far too big for what they need. Wouldn't a 100-200 seater stand do and its less money to find?

Blimey - you STILL trying to get a rise out of Windsor fans?

You are in a higher league than us, with more supporters and you haven't gone bust. Well done.

Can we move on now?

Don't Windsor take more fans to away games than the monochrome ones?

Don't mind Maidenhead fans. Credit to them for the time they came to the meadow for a pre season game saw the ticket price and walked off!

Well Stag Meadow is easier to go to a match if you want to drink and not drive than a Slough 'home' game.

Witney Town resign from the Hellenic. Only Ascot of the local sides lose points, W&E lost to them and Binfield were yet to play them at all

Windsor won at Croydon 3-0 today. (Croydon lost 7-4 to Guernsey in the week.)

Too far out as I needed to get to be back in Windsor by 5.30 so I decided to take in Uxbridge v Aylesbury. Saw 5 mins of football before a 50/50 challenge ended up with a broken leg to ex W&E player Chris Owens. Obviously in extreme pain he couldn't be moved but it took 25 mins for ambulance then another 10 mins for morphine to arrive. When they tried moving him he was screaming in pain. Poor chap, really not nice. The young lino was pretty upset about the distress the player was in as they were trying to move him and it was at that point the ref told him to go the shower as he was calling the game off. Inevitable really but I suppose they have to hang on until there's no alternative.

Game was called off at 4.02pm.

Although the Aylesbury player was sent off (almost as an afterthought) the Uxbridge fans and players seemed to agree it was 50/50 and no blame attached.

(I've probably been pretty fortunate but I think that's the 1st break I've seen in the flesh since since Steve Froggatt (crisis of confidence... was it him?) in front of the South Bank all those years ago. )

I did think of you as the train passed through there and had a more vivid than I would have liked image of you getting an angry handjob from a bloke called Colin whilst others looked on :? :|

Aaaanyway, fairly routine win for Maidenhead today, went 2-0 up and there was only one team in it. Then they got a pen and it could've gone either way but for a gr8 save

Good old Colin. If I recall correctly he'd get me to finish off into a piece of old half-eaten fish batter from the Upminster Bridge chip shop watched by a gang of Upminster Cypriots.

Good result for the Mags, btw #mms

As reported previously (I was there) it was an Uxbridge player (Chris Owens) with the serious injury, not Aylesbury.
