Guernsey are always going to have an issue due to their unique situation. Has the southern or Ryman league said they'll accept them as i know that the league and its clubs had a say in them joining the CC or do they have to be allowed promotion now that they are in the pyramid?

As for the Slough ground farce now that its becoming council v government add another few years onto any bricks being put in the ground if they ever are. Its very odd that the old ground has had work done on it in recent years. It was in a terrible state but now its not far off being fit for a club! I know its not what STFC want anymore but a few years of renting there wouldn't be the worst thing would it?

Council have issued a very robust defence of their proposals, and are looking for a quick response from the Govt, have to see what they come back with. It will no doubt lead to delays as if it hasn't taken long enough already, but I think that people would put up with that if they knew that it's definitely going to happen. If the uncertainty about the end result cannot be removed quickly there is a real danger to the club, as the current renting situation is just not sustainable.

Wexham Park clearly didn't end well last time, and there is likely to be resentment to the thought of going back there by some (not by me I hasten to add), but if the alternative is no club, then it has to be an option. Interestingly, the Council's response mentions that the Khalsa School would be better suited at Wexham as it is a bigger footprint than Arbour Vale, but clearly the Education types have got to have their twopenneth...

... expecting the weather to have a big say in how many/few go ahead - hope I don't get a blank w/e again. :|

- managed to get out to Ascot 1-3 Wantage during the week - but very few other local MW matches survived. Can a see a lot of games being crammed into early May.
The 'non-lit' leagues round here {North Berks, East Berks and the Surrey leagues} are trying to start up some midweek games soon too - trouble is they invariably end in darkness - rarely start on schedule cos not all the players can't get there for 18:00/18:30 etc & quite often play 40' halves too.

here's the 'usual' NL round-up then - no call offs yet - most of the bad stuff has arrived in the Midlands and beyond and Essex/Suffolk.

My local club 8)

Hoping to make my first visit tonight but somehow doubt it will be on, they have plenty of games off at the best of times.

Tomorrow, a trip up the A43 for Brackley Town vs Vauxhall Motors, again weather permitting. Have you been there, FoC? Any tips on parking?

I bet both games will be off :lol:

EDIT: Literally just as I posted this an e-mail telling me North Leigh and Diddy is off :lol:

...which County 'cup' Final do you mean - the Intermediate one tomorrow at Binfield?

or the Trophy @ Chesham on Tue 16th April - between Aylesbury Utd and A.N.OTHER FC ? 8) [i](not seen any outcome yet of the County FA's deliberations re ineligible players used by both of the other Semi Finalists - will have a dig around)

.... or the Senior Cup Final on 6th May - also at Amy Lane Chesham twixt Beaconsfield and Chesham Utd

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RE Floyd and Brackley - went there about 4 years ago and parked free without problem but now they're at a loftier status I think they've introduced a few restrictions - here's the relevant bit from their own website:
http://www.brackleytownfc.com/raw.shtml ... tions.map/
...don't think either club involved tomorrow have the liveliest of forums for latest info - from experience - and I rarley venture up as far as STEP01/02 :? the best place for news of Conference call-offs is probably the BBC sports website.
... hope its on for you - quite liked the ground - not regarded much by the Anorak fraternity though - undoubtedly Northerners resenting the prices and having to put up with another half-decent well-funded southern-softie bunch in 'their' league. Sitting pretty in the play off spots too. 8)
Wexham Park is not actually within the borough of Slough, and we want the team back in Slough.
The plans for Arbour Park are there and most of us thought nearing the time for the build to start. It seems to be 1 thing after another, but again we will fight it and have the support of the council this time. Fingers Crossed
Bugger all chance of any games being on tomorrow in local non leagues. Even FOC might struggle to find a game!
Each to their own. To be fair Windsors ground is probably closer to some residents of Slough than Sloughs current ground.
I live in slough and Support Burnley, so cant really say to much. Oh and on your other comment, thanks, ill take that as a compliment i was half way to being completey wasted, so still being able to stand and looking like a soap star ill take :D
Do you like the effect O'Toole, Parsons, Anthony and Chandiram have had?
Good players though they are, I wonder whether they have upset the balance / morale of the squad as form seems less consistent..?
O'Toole took a while to get his shooting boots on and found it hard to get a start with Burnell and Smith doing so well up front. However the last few games he has found form and i think will do really well. Parsons also a very skillful player but i think he holds on to the ball slightly to long sometimes, after taking on 4 players should try and find the pass, but he tends to go on and try and take on a 5th. (Great work rate though)
Anthony starting to impress and getting some shots in too and chandiram i dont think has had a fair crack at it yet, no contunuity in getting a starting place.
All in All 4 very good players that i feel have merged well with the current squad. All will have plenty to contribute for the remainder of the season, considering how many games we have got to play in such a short period of time.
Bad News Floyd ...
Brackley v VM OFF Snow!
Doubt if much will survive round here - if anywhere :( :( :( - don't recall snow being expected this far south - but I'm sure the Beeb forecast was amended late yesterday evening.
... well that was frustrating in the least - 2nd blank Saturday in succession :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:
NO games at all survivied from my Preview list locally - indeed the only two that did finish were:
CONFS Bath 1-1 Basingstoke
SOUTHP Weymuff 0-3 Chesham
... astonishingly there was one game played in the N.Berks league at Crowmarsh Gifford - but I'd been there for an evening game late last season. That and the lack of info for leagues down at that level, with the weather the way it was around 14:00, meant I didn't venture out on the off chance - and it must have been a freak chance that that particular game was playable.
Some games scheduled locally this MW if the tide goes out:
Mon: Highmoor/IBIS v Newbury @ Palmer Pk
Tue: matches at Tadley, Cove, Hartley W, Sandhurst, Ascot & Bracknell.
Diddy's game @ North Leigh that was called OFF on Friday has been hastily re-arranged for this night too.
Sluff have two away games this week Tue @ Biggleswade & Thu @ Barton Rovers (that's nr Luton - not the team from Tilehurst! 8) )
