Alexander Litvinenko
Pepe the Horseman You watch Reading every week, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch Argentina v Brazil, and you'd rather watch us in a pointless friendly against Maidenhead?

Leave him to do his "I'm a better fan than you" spiel in peace.

Not at all, I just that I find watching football increadibly boring without an emotional attachment to one of the teams.

M8 of mine told me that Brentford need to get near 10,000 to break even against Celtic pre season. They moaned when Brentford gave the home team the away end and Celtic the other 3 sides. So the club relented and gave them the home end and another side of the ground and I think at the time of my m8 telling me, they'd sold 500 tickets for the Brentford ends.

Aubery Boyce If you want to see Real Madrid, hop on a flight and see them in a La Liga match. much better option!

And about the same ticket price...

My ticket cost me 40 euros :|

I did too, but had completely forgotten about it until you mentioned it. Also saw Brazil v Ireland at Emirates.

Well as celtic's league season is likely to consist of 44 friendlies they may as well start with the toughest game first....

I completely forgot about it even while I was watching it, even with the Reading legend that is Omar Daley playing for Jamaica

Tickets went on general sale today and were sold out by half 2 queues round the block at the two main town center outlets. Nice bit of business that.

Who could forget his amazing solo run against Bradford? He beat about five players the only problem being he went from one wing to the other and nowhere near the goal.

Schards#2 No, I wouldn't

It's not that it doesn't involve Reading (I watch hundreds of neutral games a year on Sky), it's the fact that it's not competitive and, therefore, meaningless.

You think there's anything 'friendly' about any Brazil - Argentina game?

What about an England - Scotland 'friendly'?

Read my lips

Not interested

There's one coming up and I wouldn't go if it was being played at the Madejski. However much the fans might big it up, the players will treat it as a kickabout followed by six subs by each side.

Minus Real's appearance fee and AFCB have made a tidy profit of 37p.

I think the ticket income covers the above - anything they can pick up from media is pure profit, as is merchandise and catering on the day. And some of those who go there to see Real might come back to see AFCB.

Rather we played a more meaningful match that will actually provide some benefit for the season ahead over an exhibition match.

They sell the vast majority of the tickets through an agent so there's a slice off the top too.

You won't be saying that when you're watching Swansea take 85 minutes to leave their half.

I won't be watching. I have no interest in paying to watch a training session.
