BR2
sputnik Not sure about the immense, but I am struggling to think of an English CB playing better than Cahill this season.

He has done o.k as part of a defensive unit but my son who is a Chelsea regular (where did I go wrong?) doesn't rate him and his reading of the game, or the lack of it, means that he ends up having to make last-ditch tackles which always look impressive but are often made because of reading the game wrongly.
H is probably though one of the best of a very poor bunch-take a look at the other top 3 clubs in Arsenal, Liverpool and City and there is not an English centre-back to be seen unless you really scrape the barrel and mention Lescott who is about 5th choice at City.

Hoop Blah
BR2 The other teams may not have great centre-backs but their forward players are so much better than ours so ours may be under more pressure to perform.
In our World Cup group alone Cavani and Suarez are streets ahead of any front pairing that we might put out.

That's a bit harsh on a Rooney and Sturridge partnership that, if it clicks, could be pretty decent. They won't be as good no, but not streets behind either.

With the rest of the squad to work with, Rooney and Sturridge won't be good enough to take England out of the group.

Suarez and Sturridge probably would be.

Olivier Giroud ‏@_OlivierGiroud_ 7m
I apologise to my wife, family and friends and my manager, team-mates and Arsenal fans.

Olivier Giroud ‏@_OlivierGiroud_ 5m
I now have to fight for my family and for my club and obtain their forgiveness. Nothing else matters at the moment.

The internet (never wrong) tells me he was getting it on with this young lady in a team hotel recently

I'd love it if Arsenal got absolutely bum-f*cked tonight 8)

LOL @ 'supporting the english clubs in europe'. Erm, nope.....all owned by foreigners with mainly foreign players and foreign managers. Hope you all lose.

That said, I've got a funny feeling Arsenal might get a result tonight. At least that would make the second leg interesting, unlike ManchesteROFL City's tie.

I wonder if Giroud being dropped has anything to do with this bird
BTW I make Bayern Munich about 1/2 fav.s for this game but bookies have them at a tempting 8/11.

One of the worst penalties you are likely to see. What a massive bottle job

Oh dear, how sad.

Wish it had been Saints or Everton.......or Sunderland defending our Premier league tonight. It could not have been worse.

BOOM!

Wenger accusing Robben of making a lot out of the most obvious penalty ever. Officially bored with deluded managers making excuses for their own failings. Mourinho was right about Wenger.

I thought he was saying to Robben that their keeper dived, when Sangogogologo didn't touch him (which was the incident that happened when Wenger did the "dive" motion)

Wenger "Our keeper went for the ball, he touched Robben, who made more of it."

I do think Robben made a lot out of it. Doesn't mean it wasn't a foul & penalty though, just that he did a good job of making it look much worse than it was.

Definitely a foul and penalty, but think the ball was running well out of play, so not convinced by the red card.
