A long way from falling out of love with the game, but almost everything mentioned above gets my back up.

I'd add appealing for stuff even when players must know it came off them. It seems good old-fashioned honesty is it as out of date as black boots.

Ark Royal
SPARTA Not just the Prem, but the game in general, and then all the off-field shenanigans these days. I've been to one game this season (opening day) and not missed it at all, neither have I seen one football league highlights or MoTD. Previous to this season I've hardly missed a home game stretching back to 1994, and always do a few away games a season, but I just don't enjoy going any more. Our home 'matchday experience' doesn't help, but largely I've just fallen out of love with the game. I would have been nervously phoning for a ticket for Bradford away a year or two ago, but I didn't even bother watching more than 25 minutes of the game on the telly, and I'm not fussed about the replay. It actually pains me to feel like this, because for a long time the club and the game were a huge part of my life, but not any more. The interest in RFC remains, but I can't say when or if the bug will ever come back. I hope it does, but I don't miss what was once my biggest addiction. Sadly I know a lot of long-time supporters who feel exactly the same.

Absolutely +1 ^this. Great post, Sparta and I echo every sentiment along with Floyd's original post. I think the game has turned rotten at the top (FIFA) and that particular maggot is eating its way through the rest of the game; and I have really have grown to viscerally hate the Premier League for the greed and avarice that it stands for.

you're on the wrong web site in that case gents

Want to restore peoples enthusiasm and desire to attend on match day? Easy .Apart from season tickets ,ban tickets .Return to paying at the gate. Real fans may then get to see their side in action. Cannot envisage many of the prawn sandwich brigade queuing up on a wet Wednesday night.

A lot of very valid issues raised but one that has me holding my head in my hands is the whole self importance and agrandizement of the game. The day football leapt from the back pages onto the front pages or the style pages is the day its soul shrivelled up and died.

And while we're at it, Mourinho isn't the Special One, he's a one eyed narcissistic twat and wearing glasses doesn't make Wenger a Professor, it makes him short sighted.

It all started with Sky.
Too much hype, too much money in the game, too much at stake making temptation to cheat greater.
If you have a Sky Sports subscription a small step is to cancel it.

Nor ticket holders either it would appear : Reading Brighton Att: 14,748

The Championship is failing, attendance is down again. Empty seats is starting to look like empty stands.

There was actually less than 14,748 at the Brighton game. That was tickets sold, rather than attendees.

Same for every game, at every club.

Stats on that page show the average attendance to be 17,638.

Last year's average was 16,609, so hardly indicative of crowds falling. It's higher than 6 of the last 10 seasons.

For us though, a directionless club, fielding a dull team in a very boring season (cup apart) hardly inspires too many people to come along.

I concur with everything that has been said.

Haven't watched a single premier league game. Only made the effort to see Reading away once, and that was only because I could see a mate afterwards.

It's just not a very good product, for want of a better word.

Seriously considering going non league next season. Though, my nearest team will be Nuneaton borough, so I might be a bit more picky with a team.

I could add waving imaginary yellow cards, should be an immediate ban.

Rolling on the floor after a tackle, there really is no need, a roll should be a yellow, two rolls a red, and any more they exponentially get longer bans.

Fouls on keepers should be banned, they have the advantage of using their hands, why should any contact not only win them a free kick but they invariably go apeshit as well.

Shepherding balls out of play, it's really not under your control as you haven't touched it.

Ban Barcelona, Pepe Guardiola, 2-8-0 formations and any tippy tappy football where refs are conditioned into thinking every contact is a foul. This football is just boring me to death.

With Man shifty losing tonight, it seems the PL is all but Chelsea's.....suck it up Kes.

Is this the sort of team that we really want to purvey to the worldwide footballing community though?
