Pepe the Horseman United have confirmed a deal in principle for Sancho, subject to "contractual terms" which seems like a fairly big deal still.

Wage were apparently agreed ages ago - one of the main issues is that Sancho wants to wear 7, so they need to persuade Cavani to give it up.

Hope they do an Ivan Zamorano situation when he was at Inter.

Maybe if Cavani hadn't signed a contract extension, I could see it. But not this summer - maybe Jan I guess.

Same as Rui Patricio

Patrício opted to wear the No.11 shirt for Wolves as opposed to the habitual No.1, in honour of Carl Ikeme, who had just retired following treatment for acute leukaemia. He made his league debut on 11 August 2018, in a 2–2 home draw against Everton.

The deal means that Manchester City will be getting £11.2M, due to the sell on clauses they had in the deal when they sold Sancho to Dortmund for £8M a few Years ago..........

Solskjaer signs a new deal. Looking on Reddit and see that opposition fans are even more delighted with the news than united fans.

Ole has slowly progressed the United side but I just don’t see how far he’ll he able to take them by the end of it, not winning any trophies given some of the positions they’ve been in is pretty poor

Think this season will make or break him, especially given the signing of Sancho

Talk me through the progressing bit....

Absolutely laughable. They look an utter mess. Give him another contract please.

Yeah they haven't progressed, they have just stayed as they are. They go on a great 10 game run then lose a couple, lose a Champions League match and the "Ole Out" stuff starts again. It is a cycle.

If he doesn't win anything this season I think it will be over for him. There are far better managers out there for the biggest club in the world.

Ok

2018/19 - Finished 6th
2019/20 - Finished 3rd
2020/21 - Finished 2nd

Achieved a better position each season, finishing above the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool last season

Underachieving with the current squad for sure, and I’ve always argued they need a better manager to regularly win trophies again, but he hasn’t done badly there

NathStPaul Yeah they haven't progressed, they have just stayed as they are

Again, that isn’t true

Under Moyes, Van Gaal and Mourinho, they only achieved CL qualification twice in 5 seasons and aside from half a season under Mourinho, weren’t even close to a title race, compared to now where they look a fairly regular top 4 side

Don’t think Solskjaer has the drive/personality to make the final (and most important step) but to say they’ve made no progression doesn’t add up

LOL.

Under Mourinho they finished runners up with an unfancied squad in 2017/18, won the League Cup, won the Community Shield, won the Europa League and made an FA Cup final.

Try again.

Tbf, they did finish a whopping 19 points off City that year, although that might be mostly down to City getting 100 points!

81 points is great compared to other recent Manchester United seasons. Coming 2nd to that Manchester City side is nothing to be ashamed of.

Absolutely, it would've been good enough for 2nd/3rd for the following seasons as well.

Maybe that points to Jose being a bit harshly looked at as well. Much like Lukaku was when he was at Utd

I would agree with that, I thought he did a great job at United. Obviously went sour at the end like it always does with Mourinho but winning the Europa League and League Cup is no mean feat.

I think United need someone in charge who is a combination of Ole and Mourinho. Someone who is the players mate but is also tacitaclly aware and knows how to win big football matches. I think that is Ole's weakness from what I have seen, very naive at times.

Before collapsing in his third season and reverting to square one again

Like I’ve said before, Ole isn’t a winner like Mourinho so you pointing to trophies has no bearing on the conversation. In terms of league positions only, the progression is clear and evident. They finished 2nd with a midfield duo of Fred and McTominay, a duo most have stated aren’t even in the top 10 best in the league

They now have a much stronger squad so should kindly move Ole on but the flak he has gotten is unwarranted

Unless you’re being deliberately obtuse, there really isn’t anything in there which is hard to understand
