What a crap attitude that is. Not preaching to anyone, just giving a few facts. How honestly can you call yourself an animal lover and yet eat farmed meat though? Do you know what they do to animals in farms even before they are killed? Seriously read up a bit on its, its all out there.

Your basically saying Zouma is a pcunt for kicking a cat for his pleasure, but its fine for someone else to give a similar creature an entire horrific shortened life before being killed for your pleasure.

Eat meat fine - at least own the process. Its far worse than kicking a cat, believe me.

If you can't comprehend the difference between animals that are bred for food or domesticated pets then that's your crap attitude. It's not like for like. I am quite happy to pick which animals I choose to love.

ah thats fine then. So you're not an animal lover, but one that loves certain domesticated animals. That's quite a big difference

Explain why a cat is more worthy than a pig though. Because a pig is unlucky enough to taste a better? Pigs are apparently more intelligent than dogs fwiw

Sanguine Yeah, Hound, not sure anyone needs to 'own' animal slaughter to enjoy a burger, just because they object to Zouma drop-kicking his cat.

I disagree but there you go. There is simply no logic that says kicking a cat is outrageous but horrendous farming practices so we can eat meat is ok.

Point I'm making is that simply in eating meat, I (and others) are not saying that 'horrendous farming practices are ok'. We're just eating meat, whilst at the same time saying that someone shouldn't beat up their cat. I read a lot more of these false equivalences these days. It's from the school of 'oh so you hate this, but you didn't say you hate that, you scum' Twitter-guff.

Do you simply not care where it came from? Or you think those practices are really bad but not so much as to inconvenience you by not eating it?

By eating meat you literally are causing that suffering etc. Its just you not actually doing it, unlike Zouma and his cat. Every bit of meat you eat has caused an animal to suffer far worse than that of Zouma's cat. possibly one to think about.

That.

I mean, that's moving into a separate debate as to whether we should breed animals for food and eat farmed meat.

My point is as above, the false equivalence created between thinking one thing is bad and thinking another separate thing is bad. At an extreme, it is the 'but ALL Lives Matter' argument.

As above, we disagree and that's cool, but I can't get any nearer your position that because, whilst animal farming practices are horrid, I accept them as dietary convenience, means that I can't find booting a domestic cat in the gut abhorrent.

Hound Let him kick the cat obviously

He clearly gets pleasure out of kicking cats same way as you might out of eating a steak. And I’m not going to stop you, just pointing out the inconsistency

I’m with you Hound.

If you took a vote of small animals they’d say the cat deserved it.

If you took a vote of cats they’d probably say the cat deserved it. Cats hate other cats.

If you took a vote of dogs etc etc.

Face it - cats are cnuts.

indeed. they are one of my least favourite animals. Stupid little things.

That said - I'm in no way endorsing mistreatment of cats. *

*FAO certain posters with no sense of humour.

Fair enough. For me it isnt a false equivalence, its exactly one and the same thing. Ill treatment of animals for our pleasure. Happy to agree to disagree and get back to footballers (like Zouma) acting like total bell ends.

There was a similar thing with Jeffrey Dahmer (iirc)

He wanted it made clear that he killed a lot of blacks simply because there were a lot of blacks in his area not that he was racist

Not getting any easier for Goodwillie to play football, and probably rightly so. After his time at Raith Rovers was cut short, last week he rejoined Clyde - prompting their entire women's squad to quit the club, and North Lanarkshire Council to ban him from Clyde's home stadium, and inform the club that they will end their lease on the stadium if at any point he is allowed into the ground.

Slightly odd seeing as he has been there for 5 seasons?

Yeah, strange it wasn't an issue before, but they've arrived in the right place now by the looks of it. Goodwillie has three assault convictions too. Lovely chap.

I wonder if he does the same to his players-they have been on a great run and could well make the play-offs.

Month late but do sort of think the Zouma thing was blown out of proportion…it’s the inconsistencies in offences, those (albeit a minority) that wanted him sacked for it need to get a grip

Don’t particularly agree with your wider point but then I guess I can see the logic…reads far too much like an AE debate though

Was tempted a few weeks back when they started picking up some form to put them on for promotion at 9/1, hope it doesn’t happen now!
