That's correct. Although thought they were only getting 500.

They've been moaning about it on Twitter and calling Brackley tinpot! Finish higher if you don't like it. Its the whole point of the play off system to benefit the higher up teams. I think it's a great system.

I will be there tomorrow. It will be a bit of a squeeze and the bar will be at a standstill. Planning on a drink elsewhere beforehand. Fingers crossed. Hope my Reading play off bad vibes don't rub off on Brackley!

Went to Wembley to watch play off final. It was gripping and dramatic despite few goal attempts. Chesterfield started well and deserved their lead and defended very doggedly. Both goalkeepers were very shaky. Dallas was a livewire up front for Chesterfield whilst Bostock and the winger Nemane were both excellent for County.
Despite the attendance being 38,000 the atmosphere was superb.

Anyone know more about City, are they likely to go professional presuming they'll be promoted. Will they be ambitious enough to challenge for the FL or just make up the numbers like Maidenhead?

Decent simple Macron hooped kit too when compared to some of the monstrosities Reading have had.

I think it would take quite a lot to get the ground up to league standard. They'll need quite a few more fans too. They averaged just 438, despite finishing third, a drop of nearly 30% from the previous season.

They'll do very well not to make an instant return. It's just a shame Oxford United aren't still in non-league.

I was also there, and I agree. County, despite having most of the play, can probably count themselves fortunate not to lose.

Bostock can also think himself lucky his penalty miss wasn't critical. To have blown promotion trying a Panenka would be almost unforgivable.

I think Chestefield paid the price for not really going for it enough when they were ahead. They looked far more dangerous when attacking than County did.

At least Notts County beat my play-off jinx. In 10 finals I'd been to before that, the team I wanted to win had lost 9 of them.

Should be fairly open next season, the two big spenders have gone and as far as I am aware none of the other clubs have the level of financial clout that Notts County and Wrexham had.

Fear a bit for Maidenhead, hearing there is absolutely no money to spend and the clubs primary focus is the new stadium and not investment in the playing staff.

Maidenhead also being one of the very few part time teams in the division also has to make them a favourite for the drop (but then it's been the same I think every season they've had at that level). It's going to be a tricky balance but then they do need a new stadium as York Road really is so hemmed in being in the town centre - how far along the road are the plans to move, do they have the foggiest where to move to?
