Also, It may be a coincidence but the two teams who finished 3rd and 4th last season are probably the hardest hit with injuries this season. If you took 4/5 key players out of most teams you'd expect them to finish 10-15 points off their previous total.

The form of Casemiro and Rashford dropped off a cliff. I don't think you can put that on the coaching. Rashford is patchy at best and Casemiro might be past it.

Even without the injuries and loss of form Utd would only be competing for the last CL spot. The football would have been as bad but the results would have been better

How many more thrashings and shots against them will it take before pundits and fans alike realise that ten Hag just isn't very good at setting up a defensive unit?

They may go to the season before and see that only Newcastle and City conceded fewer goals than Utd before making that decision. Or go to the season before that where Ajax conceded just 19 goals, or maybe the 20/21 season with 23 over a 34-game season (they also scored 102)

They'd also look at the defensive injuries his team had this season. No LB at all for 2/3rds of a season (Shaw & Malacia out). This means you have to play your best RB there and make do with a weaker player in the right-back position.

I think there were 40+ defensive pairings at CB due to injuries. Utd ended the season playing midfielders at CB. Losing a key player like Martinez is similar to LFC losing VVD, how did that work out for LFC? Talking of the dippers, in the 7-0 battering, LFC had 8 shots on target with an xG of +2.55 (might have to look the xG up).

There have been far too many shots conceded this year and I'm not entirely sure the reason why, the coaching, the players, whatevs. The football has been dreadful and needs to massively improve but I think we can safely say...

...you're talking out of your arse!

Unfortunately I'm having to watch it on ITV, Micah Richards (BBC) is unbearable!

I am watching.

Good start from Man Utd. Walker could give Rashford a 5 yard start and still beat him to the ball each time

United very lucky that City have defended poorly. Both goals put on a plate for them. Their fragility will let City back in.
