the bed has been well and truly shat in!

Surprised you haven’t mentioned the United bed shitting
Although a home point against the mighty Burnley must’ve been a pleasant relief

The difference is, one team was in a title race, but not anymore!

United have been shite all season, a lot of injuries (66 or so)...draining!

Have you not noticed the number of Liverpool players that have been out for lengthy periods and these, being Liverpool players as opposed to Man Utd's are top international players.

BTW good to see that Onana was at last penalised for trying to be a pugilist as he should have been against Wolves early on in the season.

there is something about Arne Slot that just doesn't look right at Liverpool. Maybe its because we are so used to seeing Klopper there, but Slot looks weird doing his press stuff in Liverpool gear

He's just a fat Brian McDermott.

It'll be hard to replace Klopp and his incredible record of one league title in 9 years

Zubimendi, will he, won't he? If Liverpool manage to pull it off then

Didn't he previously reject both Arsenal and Barca?

If they are in touch with Real Sociedad then they should go for Kubo. Outrageously talented player.

Fully rested after their travels over the past 2 weeks the Liverpool players turned up in Milan and produced a very good performance in a competition where they have had so much success against the cream of Europe.

Meanwhile back in Salford the home team score a few goals against the mighty Barnsley and progress in the competition that is surely their main target for the season and that so few of the top clubs are worried about.

Not a bad start for a team destined to not even make the top 4 according to some.
Played 9 won 8 goals 17 against 3.

So far , so good.

October is going to show how good they actually are with games v Cheatsea and the Arse. Manage to get through those fairly unscathed then nobody should be saying they won't make top 4. Personally think though that this month is where their cr@p summer in the transfer window will catch up with them.

I think they are in a decent spot.

The squad does look a little light. Having been a big fan in his early days, I can admit now that Nunez flatters to deceive. Definitely seems to be one of those who has already peaked. A few strings to his bow but will never add any more. Any injury that sees him starting regularly is a problem.

Midfield is in slightly better nick. The Gravenberch-Mac Allister axis has been electric, the former in particular. They will want to wrap both of them in cotton wool as much as possible. Mac Allister in particular seems to take a lot of heavy fouls. None of Jones, Endo or Elliott are as good, albeit Curtis Jones has been in very good form of late.

Slot the first Liverpool manager to win eight out of his first nine games. So he has done well, but yes, testier fixtures to come - in fact its a pretty tough run now for two months after Palace this weekend. Chelsea (h), Leipzig (a), Arsenal (a), Brighton (a), Brighton (h), Leverkusen (h), Villa (h), Southampton (a), Real Madrid (h), City (h), Newcastle (a). Crikey.

Alisson - he of hamstrings made of spaghetti - out for six weeks. Probably kills Kelleher's hopes of a permanent move away for another season, albeit he will get a run now of 10 games or so.

How good is Kelleher? He's been decent enough when I've watched him

Yeah, excellent shot stopper, quick, gets to the ball well. Distribution not great, but then most aren't compared to Alisson. He'd comfortably be first choice at plenty of PL clubs.

Agreed. Very very decent keeper and very able replacement for Alisson. Reportedly they'll also have someone even better than him next season as well and therefore would expect Kelleher to move on to somewhere like Forest or Brentford or maybe a Rangers/Celtic.

A lot of Liverpool fans I know think he's a decent backup but not good enough to be their 1st choice long term.

I can see him replacimg Schmeichel at Celtic.
