SanguinegenomeWinston Biscuit Really hope it's nothing more than a 'we have warned him about his future conduct', and maybe take him off Liverpool games for a while.
I assume it will be a much harder punishment though
There's not really any evidence of wrongdoing or corruption... just that he hates Klopp. I dunno if it really needs more than a warning
With some justification, Liverpool could absolutely suggest that Coote is unable to referee their games with impartiality.

katweslowski I've a few thoughts on this.
Firstly, he has brought the game into disrepute - but only by videoing it. It would have been the same had he tweeted "I hate Klopp, he's a nonce".
Secondly, I think people are really naieve and frankly a bit stupid, if they think that refs - who are humans believe it or not - don't like and dislike some people more. It's also well justified. I saw from the TV screen just how vile Klopp and other managers are, horrible people.
It's the same as us all saying "I can't stand that client", but you still do your job. If you went and put it on LinkedIn, that's where the issues would start.

Okay. sentiment I agree with - but....most of us don't officiate in a business worth tens of millions to the parties involved. We don't make 100 reasonably subjective calls involving those parties over the course of a football match.
I'd also suggest that, whilst people are of course wholly professional at work - in terms of business deals, companies are less likely to work with each other if stakeholders think that the other party is a prick.
I don't think that Coote is 'corrupt' - but there is a difference between being a City fan (for example) and thinking that Jurgen Klopp is 'an arrogant oxf*rd'. It is difficult to think that that doesn't impact Coote's mindset on the field. That being said fwiw, there are plenty of instances of Coote making lenient decisions regarding Liverpool - to counter the obvious examples to the contrary like the Odegaard handball, and Pickford foul. I'll dig out the article I found on it.
