Penalty shootout..... Arsenal won't win. None of them know where the goal is.
Arteta not buying a striker in 3 seasons thinking Havertz is the answer is ludicrous.

Mind-bogglingly stupid is what it is,

Another season's potential trophies chucked away by the insane lack of anyone half-resembling a striker.

Chris Wood would have scored a hat-trick for them today.

Brogue Which twat thought white numbers on the back of Arsenal white shirt was a good idea

....they've done it before, as per ...

https://www.arsenal.com/news/why-are-arsenal-wearing-all-white-kit

....but shirley cd have thought about a more visible shade for the number in-fill ...even a neutral grey ....

...and as someone pointed out on NLM at least it gets talked about? Not unlike their mysterious 'Third Reich' type font on the shirts a year or two back- for their European campaign?
(Bad choice of phrasing there soz!) :?

Isn’t the idea that Havertz plays the “Firmino” role? Not necessarily there for his goalscoring but for a specific role? Granted, he doesn’t do the role as well as Firmino did and some of his finishing has been poor but let’s not forget how underwhelming the likes of Martinelli, Trossard, Jesus and Sterling have been

Memory may be off but didn’t City also win the league with a “false 9” the season before Haaland joined?

genome Shame about the no replay rule change. Tamworth deserved a big replay by getting to 90 minutes at 0-0

Youd presume the mentality of clubs would shift if replays still existed, I.e. Werner would have been subbed off a long time before if it was still the case

They were always going to win in ET, talent notwithstanding as they had the legs advantage over Tamworth

All that can be true as well of course.

Justice done with the save - but in another universe today, Arsenal won 2-1 having secured a penalty with a dive....

VAR has its purpose.

And we also saw Stam trial a 4-6-0 vs Stevanage in the cup!

Agreed. Tamworth were completely mentally tired, as shown by Tottenham's first goal. Tottenham were obviously fitter too. Their best hope was getting to penalties, or some sort of serious Tottenham error.

But how would Tottenham (or any other top side) have the energy and resources to fit in another game? The poor little mites are on a shoestring budget, just trying to make ends meet. They deserve a break.

...

But seriously, I saw a lot of posts about this yesterday. I still can't believe there aren't replies, particularly as it all seems to have been so easily accepted by the footballing world. It was spoken about at the time, but quickly forgotten.

745 clubs can enter the FA cup
The 20 most rich, the most powerful and those with the greatest resources voted to remove all replays
No consultation and no involvement with the other 725 clubs - all just left in the dark and expected to accept it.

Once again, it's these top teams wanting EVERYTHING on their terms. It's sickening really and it's another thing which really turns me away from football even more.

They need to save their energy for the money spinning tour to Australia at the end of the season

Seems odd to write it, but feels like Liverpool can take another material step towards the title tomorrow night if they win at Forest, with their opponents seemingly the only other team with anything resembling 'form' at the moment. Win it and Liverpool will be nine points ahead of them with a game in hand. Remains to be seen what Arsenal can make out of a run of home fixtures in the PL and if they can maintain or close the gap to the top.

Liverpool have three away games that fall into the 'tricky' category coming up, at Forest, Brentford and Bournemouth, sandwiching Ipswich's visit to Anfield.

It's great having some different sides putting together excellent results. Newcastle have won seven in a row in all competitions, and could conceivably keep winning, with Wolves and Southampton in their next three.

Just learned that Tamworth usually charge £18 for adults and kids get in free, but yesterday it was £40 for adults and £25 for kids.

And the ground was full. Tamworth, unless taken over by Ryan Reynolds, will likely play Spurs once in the lifetime of every fan who has watched them this season. I hope they gave priority to regular fans, but no-one was truthfully priced out - if you're a Tamworth fan you'd happily pay that as a one-off.

I'm not sure if I like the price going up so much but arguably they wouldn't have done so if a replay was a possibility

Yes they would have had a replay and mega £££ coming their way if it wasn’t for the big clubs and spineless FA
