Winston Biscuit €437M spent on 15 players since 'big Ange' arrived according to transfermarket.co.uk

As I said before. It's the wages. 46% wages to turnover in 2022 & 2023, the lowest in the league by some margin

I am not convinced at all by that. that just feels like fans are upset and are then trying to think of a thing to say they are upset about that makes their upsetness sound justified.

I honestly believe its nothing more than they just think Postecoglu is a nice bloke and really want it to work out under him. but you can't keep losing game after game and be happy, so they need to vent their frustration, but they don't want to do it at the manager. Levy is the obvious pantomime villain to fit the role.

If the football and results had been exactly what they have been but Postecoglu had the personality of Conte, the fans would have been calling for him to go ages ago because of the results. and I get it, we all want nice guys running our football clubs

I don't think you can just dismiss the wages to turnover thing. Wages and success have correl8ed for a long time (United being the more recent exception - but even then they've got few cups). Anyway I think it's less Ange's personality and more that he's the fourth in a line of managers since Pochettino and the fans are tired of the chopping and changing. And there's also a common denomin8or throughout - Levy. Mourinho and Conte both called him out, don't forget.

Doesn't necessarily mean Ange's the right bloke, but that, plus the ridiculous injury list, means he gets cut some slack from the fans.

according to this lot, https://www.capology.com/uk/premier-league/payrolls/ spurs have the 8th highest wage in the PL. so why are spurs 15th and Bournemouth and Brentford are 7th and 11th when their wages are 16th and 19th in the wage table?

I get that there is a direct correlation between wages and success. But spurs issue goes way beyond this. i actually think, and not trying to be ian here, they need to go down. The mentality of the club is fcuked. this whole 'spursy' thing cannot be shaken, its endemic through the club. players, managers, and fans, none of them believe they can win anything. They need a proper reset. Go down, get rid of the majority if the squad start again with a new ethos, a new mind set. come back up as champions with a winning mentality, confidence can take you a long way. They need a mentality that they can win things

Wages to success will be self-fulfilling in the medium term, where success sees wages increase at time of contract renewal - albeit there will be some broad exceptions or correlation also to stadium size, commercial revenue etc. Brentford for example won't continue to have only the 16th highest wage bill if they keep flirting with Europe.

Ange isn't a bad manager by any stretch of the imagination, probably more a bad fit for Spurs but if managers like Conte, Mourinho, Espirito Santo and Postecoglu, all managers who have achieved success at other clubs, can't at Spurs, you have to start asking questions about the club, be that the bloke at the top or an endemic culture of failure.

I strongly suspect the Man City and Newcastle numbers are not quite correct there, even if they officially are

I buy 0 as I'm sure man City claim nobody is paid as a director, they just use directors of the sovereign wealth fund who do it for fun, but 7?? I know it's cheap up there but!!!

I'd image the same is true at Newcastle and they just put down a token paper value.

Interesting tactics from Ange. Go to the ‘pool with a one goal lead and attempt to defend it for 90 minutes. Is it only everyone else who could sense a slight problem with that?

They were still defending that lead at 4-0 down.

0 shots on target.

surprised* that with the recent intake of female presenters that “Tottenham” even contains the the letter ‘T’

What is it with the modern day presenter laydees, did their schooling exclude pronouncing it?

Seriously! Does Tottenham have too many letters and syllables for their modern day support to be able to handle?
