URZZZZ
URZZZZ Burnley have conceded just 9 goals in their 28 league games (6 in their last 24) - and haven’t conceded more than one in any of their games this season

Haven’t seen such a strong defensive record at this level

Another three games passed since. Another three clean sheets

People may call it boring having 9/10 0-0s but it’s incredible how little they concede

Could easily see them conceding the same number of goals in 5/6 games next season (if they get promoted) as they have done in 46 this season mind!

Reading are currently the only team to score against them this year. They’ve got Soton next in the cup so will be interesting to see if they hold out.

League wise they’ve got Hull next at home then a local derby at Preston before the crunch game, from our point of view if they still haven’t conceded, a visit from Sheffield Wednesday.

I believe, but can't verify, that with 10 0-0 draws, they have set a single season record for England's top four divisions.

Nine clean sheets in a row for Burnley - if they shut out Hull next Wednesday night at Turf Moor, they will equal the EFL record of ten, set by Torquay in 2010.

United and Edwin Van der Sar hold the English league record of 14, which is stupid and surely won't ever be beaten. Van der Sar didn't concede a goal for 22 hours.

Burnley will totally obliterate the Championship record of 30 goals conceded in a 46-game season.

While they (& he) do, technically they (& he) don’t thanks to the stupid league set up at the top level in the country.

Nwaneri will have to learn that the purpose of being winger at Arsenal is to win corners, not to get crosses in to create goal scoring chances - what would the point be in doing that, there’s never anybody there? Corners are the BEST chance of scoring goals after all.

So remember young ‘un, if you DO beat the left back, which you are clearly VERY capable of doing, either stop, recycle it back so someone else can 1. pass it back, and then go back again, and probably end up at Raya’s feet, so he can back-peddle for 20 seconds while tapping it with the bottom of his foot or 2. Play a ridiculously ambitious pass through the middle of the penalty area that gets intercepted thus creating a dangerous counter-attack, or if you can’t stop and go back, if you feel like it, run along the bye-line hoping you can set up Havertz to tap it in from a yard out (yeah, not much point in doing that as he’ll probably air-kick it anyway) or you get tackled and win a corner. THEN we can celebrate because, remember, THAT is your main aim.

Except, surprise surprise, teams have worked out how to deal with Arsenal’s corners now.

Oh well, being the best at scoring goals from set- pieces was great while it lasted.

Nwaneri - “boss, why don’t we buy a striker I can create good chances for instead of all this corner bollocks that doesn’t work anymore?”

Arteta - “Wash your mouth out son, or you can sit on the bench and I’ll carry on playing Martinelli. He has a fraction of your talent but at least he gets it!”

Why do people bang on about Arsenal needing a striker, they’ve scored more goals than any other PL team bar Liverpool this season. They scored more goals than everyone bar Man City in each of the 2 seasons before that. Hardly seems to me they’re struggling, just need to perhaps be better at defending. :?

This is bowel locks. The EFL wasn’t the EFL until 2016 so Burnley probably already have the “EFL” record.

Should be an absolutely cracking League Cup Final next month. Could Newcastle actually win something?

PL is already decided. Just a question of who finishes second to Liverpool.

Yes. The Villa game will be moved from March 15 because of the LC final, so they’ll go from having 1 game in hand to having played 1 game more so it’s possibly Liverpool’s most critical month in terms of the PL.

I see. Certainly if Liverpool are still 6-9 points clear after Villa and City away in the space of four days, they can surely start to feel confident they are on their way.

Queens Park keeper saves a 97th minute penalty to keep a 1-0 lead at Ibrox and knock the Gers out of the Scottish Cup.
