Ark Royal
Sanguine It's actually slightly nuts that Arsenal have only won one major European trophy in their history - and it is a competition that doesn't exist any more. 13 league titles, 14 FA Cups - and one Cup Winners' Cup.

Also - doesn't time pass? Liverpool went 31 years without winning the league. Unless Arsenal catch them this season, the Gunners will be at 21 years since their last league title.

...plus Inter Cities Fairs Cup in 1970 before it was rebranded as the UEFA Cup.

My error then, didn't realise that was what is now the Europa League.

Why have Liverpool become a “hit and hope” long ball team?

Don't want to jinx it with a few minutes to go, but Alisson has had the game of his life here

Hugely impressed with PSG, Allisson and Liverpool’s luck and resilience in the face of being completely outclassed.

He's been merely 'very good' since returning from injury earlier in the season, but that was one of the best goalkeeping displays in my memory. And what timing, days after the media picked up comments by Giorgi Mamardashvili, who returns from Valencia in the summer for good, that he hasn't joined to sit on the bench.

Have to say that, as an out-Liverpool fan, and having experienced Liverpool being on the end of the odd smash and grab over the years in that form, it's quite satisfying to see them win a game in that manner.

PSG so, so good though. Tie far from in Liverpool's favour, I'd be amazed if PSG didn't score in the return leg too.

Rio Ferdinand seemed very quiet on TNT’s commentary at times last night :?

Another two goals for Sir Harold of Kane last night. 75 in 79 games for Bayern now, 17 of them in 22 CL matches.

It's a shame Barney Ronay has written such an excellent piece on Alisson's performance, as I really want to think of him only as the journalist who, apparently in all seriousness, suggested that we bring Kane's England career to an end.

Ugarte and Maguire out for United, adding to the growing list of injured first teamers.

Martinez, Amad, Shaw (remember him), Mainoo, Maguire, Mount, Collyer, Bayinder and Evans.

Dorgu gets to play at least. He's been sent off in a third of his Utd games, and has cost us a goal with a comical mix-up. I'd still put him 4th in the PotS awards

Indeed. Which TNT bright spark thought it a good idea to have him on co-comms when we've already got to endure him pre, post and at half time? Ally McCoist is more than capable on his own.

I like how AM says 'by the way' when he wants to stress a point he thinks others may have overlooked (but clearly haven't)

'and by the way, what a shot that was!'
