Dorchester Town 6-0 Marlow – ‘Blues’ sink sadly towards the inevitable – will almost certainly be confirmed as relegated in the next week or so
– veteran ex-league striker (Bournemouth (twice) , Pompey, Brizzle City, Ipswich and even the Sw!ne) Brett Pitman now 37, with a hat-trick in the last 10’ on debut, for the ‘Magpies’.
- He notched 100 goals in 2 seasons in the Wessex Prem, with Portchester then Shaftesbury

Ascot United 1-5 Farnham Town – att 502 – with K’s beaten at home by PO chasing ‘Villa’, Town are now 18 pts clear with 7 games left
Badshot Lea 0-4 Leatherhead - S.Park’s win over Guernsey pushes Baggy Lea closer to the trap-door – 6 games left 15 pts behind.
Hartley Wintney 0-1 Raynes Park Vale
Hayes & Yeading United 2-1 Metropolitan Police
Kingstonian 0-1 Hanworth Villa – att 304
South Park (Reigate) 3-2 Guernsey
Southall 4-3 Horndean

Westfield 2-0 Harrow Borough

CCL-PN
Ardley United 1-0 British Airways
Bedfont Sports 1-1 North Greenford United
Broadfields United 2-1 Harefield United
Edgware & Kingsbury 1-2 Milton United
Egham Town 3-2 Virginia Water – Amersham not in action this w/e (or next) means ‘The Sarnies’ now pull 6 pts clear at the top – both sides have three fixtures remaining.
Wallingford & Crowmarsh 2-3 Burnham
Wembley A-A Wokingham Town – Abandoned reportedly due to what must have been a very localised downpour at HT!
CCL-PS
Alton 2-1 Spelthorne Sports – ‘Sports’ confirmed as relegated – barring any reprieve – and their PPG is very unlikely to put them to the fore on that criteria.
Camberley Town 1-3 Horley Town
Chipstead 1-1 Abbey Rangers
Epsom & Ewell 2-3 Balham – 2nd drop spot between these two: ‘Salts’ led ‘til well into the 2nd half but their visitors grabbed a life-line. Hosts still have 5 to play: Balham only 2.
Jersey Bulls 4-0 Fleet Town
Redhill 5-0 Tadley Calleva
Sheerwater
2-1 Tooting & Mitcham United
CCL-1
Bedfont 1-1 Yateley United
Belstone 2-1 Windsor – Windsor in some peril now: have only 4 games left and not that much breathing space above the clubs currently in the (potentially 3) relegation spots
– they (LSR, RBK & Woodley) all have at least 4 games in hand and are showing much better form taking the last 10 games into account.
- much could depend upon how many eligible lower level clubs there are, applying to move up to the CCL.
- Invariably though, it seems to just add to the number of ‘groundsharers’ in this part of the world. Over half the clubs in this division fit that category –which inevitably leads to fixture congestion come April/May

Holmer Green 1-2 Eversley & California
London Samurai Rovers 4-1 Oxhey Jets
Molesey 1-1 Penn & Tylers Green
Rising Ballers Kensington 2-3 Brook House
Westside 2-0 Chalfont St Peter
Woodley United
3-0 Colliers Wood United

HELL-P
Highworth Town 3-2 Hartpury University – had this on my list for the day.
- rather wish I’d made the effort now, as ‘Worthians’ beat the runaway leaders and Vase Semi-Finalists & confirmed their own place in the POs
- the visiting ‘Stundents’ suffered only their third defeat of the term. Assuming they are allowed up to STEP04 and they are all but Champions, they have a lead of 8 points over Roman Glass St George who have 4 games left.
- These 2 sides meet on the 9th at RGStG’s current home of Oaklands Pk (the Gloucs FA HQ)
- the other two sides in PO contention are Mangotsfield and Sporting Club Inkberrow – a village in the ‘wilds’ of Worcestershire somewhere between Stratford, Worcester and Evesham.

Royal Wootton Bassett Town 1-2 Thornbury Town – sorry end to RWBT’s chances of grabbing the last PO spot. Were beaten Finalists last season – the winners then, Cinderford, look set to make a rapid return to STEP05 from the Southern League.

HELL-1
Abingdon United 2-1 Bewdley Town
Kidlington Res 1-5 Droitwich Spa – visitors are ‘Champions’ - if my maths are correct 8)
Wellington 2-4 Carterton FC
- not sure about ‘ups/downs’ for this division yet – they are running one short with Southam dropping out.
- expect they may still try and boost this division up to 20 for next season, given sufficient clubs willing to be ‘lured’ in and eligible for STEP06.
- dropping down from the Premier, almost certainly Brimscombe & Thrupp and probably Malmesbury Vics – though the state of the latters’ ‘Flying Monk’ ground (makes Scours Lane look like a desert :? ) has ensured they still have EIGHT games to play - seven at home – finishing with 4 in one week from the 5th April!
- I suspect they may well be borrowing Cirencester’s Corinium Stadium again, for a couple of these?
- as mentioned before each season, the Hellenic League is subject to some bizarre transfers in, out and around Gloucs/Worcs/Herefords/Salop etc
- as it stands currently: if three are set to go down, it would be Newent, Carterton - after a one season stay back up at this level following their revival - .... and Wellington.
- there may also be some ‘voluntary’ demotions given the state of some of the clubs ‘just above the line’

SCE-1
Forest Hill Park 1-0 Lewisham Borough – att 284 – ‘lodgers’ bt ‘landlords’ to stay 5 pts clear at the top

WESS-P
Bournemouth 0-1 Andover New Street – Vase S-Finalists ANS hanging on to a PO spot
WESS-1
Ash United 1-1 East Cowes Victoria
- had a trek down for this one – wanted to see Finch vs leaders Westwood in a TVL-P game so made a late dash for the 14:00 KO .... but traffic out of ‘ding soon put paid to that
- &^%$ knows what someone was thinking of when they recently re-jigged the phasing of the lights by the Sportsman on the Shinfield Rd. Southbound it stays on Green long enough for TWO vehicles to get through!
- ditched the original plan and carried on to here – wouldn’t usually contemplate a revisit midweek so used a Sat. slot – not been since Xmas 21 when it was the 2nd part of a double.
- fairly exciting tussle with the rapidly reviving Ash pulling away from the drop zone with decent run of form. ECV seeking a PO spot did well to keep them at bay in the last part of the game – the keeper in particular pulling of a few wonder saves.

Cove 3-0 Romsey Town
Newport (IoW) 0-2 Frimley Green
Totton & Eling 1-2 Whitchurch United – important win for the ‘JamBoys’ to clamber out of a possible relegation spot.
Verwood Town 0-3 AFC Aldermaston – ‘Atom Men’ bounce back from a dire performance midweek (at home to Ash) with a big win at the bottom club.

New ground for me tonight as i venture into Bucks to Holmer Green FC. I hope i am not becoming a Windsor and Eton fan as tonight i will be watching them for the 2nd Tuesday running !
As i got some stick from various quarters for the peroni - tonight i have a pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord. Hopefully acceptable ?
Result Holmer Green 2 Windsor & Eton 0 a bit of a shock but the home team worthy winners and even had the luxury of missing a 2nd half penalty.
Attendance 136

A big game for Brackley last night (2nd v 3rd), and they came up short against Kidderminster

When you play a fully pro team, it really shows. Not just fitness and strength, but speed of thought and movement

Unfortunately, what seems to go with that is cynicism. Not seen so much time wasting, ref conning and general shithousery in a non league game.

A shame because the lack of this is one of the things that draws me to non league

Anyway it looks like yet another play off season for Brackley. 8th season in a row finishing in play off positions. I (and others) will not be holding our breath :D

...in other 'midweek' NL news Farnham thrash Rayners L 6-0 and are Champions of the IL1 Southern Central. 2nd placed Kingstonian were beaten again 0-3 at Raynes Park Vale - that's three defeats in four.

Binfield grab a point at Westfield 2-2 in the same division : whereas Hartley W. succumbed 1-4 at Hanworth V. to seriously dent their own PO prospects. Their Hosts last night, sit 4th behind Uxbridge, with Ascot clinging on to the last PO spot - they go to 'Villa' on Sat.

In the CCL-Premier North, Egham are all but there now with a 3-1 win at BA (lodging @ Spelthorne) on Tue.
Milton edged past bottom club Wembley with a 2-1 'home' whilst their landlords (Wallingford) walloped Risborough 5-0 at the 'Windsors' leaving Rangers just one place above the drop-line. They (RR) travel to 2nd bottom Edgware & Kingsbury this w/e.

I joined the 161 at Lowther Rec/ESSC ths evening (Wed) to witness the 'Sumas' come out on top 3-1 against their near neighbours, Reading City in the 'RG Clasico'. 8)

The Wessex Premier Monday night game had Andover New St. pick up another 3 points at Sherborne and stay firmly amongst the POs. 2nd placed AFC Stoneham thrashed US Pompey 7-2 to draw closer to leaders Portchester - the top two clubs only have one defeat apiece this term.
AFC Portchester did blow up badly two seasons ago to drop away from promotion and lost out again in the POs last term but they nurse a 9 point lead currently over the 'Purps'.

In Div One Aldermaston reverted to poor form after a big away win at the w/e - tonight beaten badly again 0-4 at 'home' (Thatcham) by Ringwood. They ought to be fairly comfortable in lower mid-table though - barring disasters.
Whitchurch won at high flying Fleetlands last night (Tue) to skip away from the bottom three.

If I can clear away work in time mid PM tomorrow (Thu) and feel sufficiently rested - I hope to get over to Summerleaze (Holyport) for the
B&B Sunday Cup Final:
FC BAPCO [Holders] vs FC Lions [from the High Wycombe Sunday Football Combination] KO 19:45
Holyport FC, SL6 8SP
£5 Adults, £1 U16's, U5's Free
(Card Only Ground)

...quite a turn-up indeed - will ask my drinkininininge mate on Fri - his extended family are Bracknell followers and attend home and sometimes away - when they aren't going to Everton games (Not sure where that connection is ?) :?
They may know more about the back-story at the SB....

Popped down to Eversley (Tue eve) for a CCL-1 PO bound tussle between E&C and Belstone (based nr Radlett between Borehamwood and Watford)
Ended 1-1 and the visitors were fortunate to escape with a point, as they had 2 players dismissed immediately following the home sides equalizer early 2nd half.
One of these seeing Red was the keeper too but his stand-in was well shielded and gathered everything he needed to when E&C mounted any attacks and got past the covering defence.
Hillingdon Boro might put the 'Wild Boars' PO spot in jeopardy - are only one point behind now, with a game in hand.
They come to Fox Lane ESA this Sat.

Either Guildford v Sandhurst in CCL-PS or the 'JamBoys' v Alresford in WESSEX-1 for me on Wed night - dependent upon how work goes late PM
