Not if he is found in breach of contract, no. More likely an ‘agreement’ will be made where he walks away with a fraction of that, imho.

Tredder 11m pay off, i can't see it myself, can you.

Loose change to Fernandez, worth it to get rid of the runt. The sad thing is some other club out there will pick him up and give another contract.

Mr Angry
Hoop Blah I think 12 games is harsh.

I know where Mr A is coming from when you break the 3 incidents out on their own, but I can't think of any other examples of where different incidents are charged independantly like you're suggesting.

Dean Windass got 3 red cards in the same game - though none for violent conduct - which got him a 6 match ban.

yes but to be fair, you really are a red faced, puffing Daily Mail reactionary

So... pretty much spot on with my guesstimate then. 8)

Not that it was particularly hard to work out.

6 week fine from QPR, and loss of the captaincy.

Can't decide if this makes QPR the wettest team in the PL, or if they just determined they couldn't sack him. Yet.

They coudn't sadly are stuck with him for three seasons unless someone is daft enough to buy him. Six weeks is the maximum fine they can impose.

11m to buy him out of his contract, i don't think you can class their decision as wet.

Prudent and pragmatic more like.

6 weeks is the max you can fine him, stripped him of club captaincy, he can't play for 12 games, not sure how much more you can do?

Sack him for gross misconduct, if the person who wrote his contract is even vaguely competent. No pay off then. Although inevitably it would result in a legal battle.

QPR have come up with a wizard wheeze whereby they send Barton off on loan to a League 2 club for a couple of months and get him to serve his 12 match ban there; the point being that they will play more games in the early part of the season so the ban will be over sooner.
BBC News The FA would consider any application to transfer the ban, but do have the power to reject it if they feel it as an abuse of the disciplinary process.

I think it must surely be just that, unless Barton actually has to play some games for his loan club once his ban is up.

Can't believe he'll play for QPR again so presumably it's just to bring forward the day he can be sold without the baggage of a ban.
