Ian Royal Germans making some uncharacteristic unforced errors and trying to force it with neat passes through a crowded centre. Falling a little into the Dutch mistake of being too casual and confident that they'll inevitably take the lead eventually.

Seriously? Are any of the top nations capable of taking a chance this tournament!?

Hopefully not from an English perspective.

Maybe, just maybe, we are all creaming ourselves and building up sides like Germany and Netherlands as much better than they are. Like we used to with England.

Netherlands are weak at the back and just couldn't take any chances, but they looked extremely threatening if one of their attackers can relax and hit a decent shot, I don't think you'll see them that profligate very often. Germany are strong all over, it's only 45 minutes in, and against a decent team that are looking to just park the bus and hope Nani, or Ronaldo produce some wonder magic.

Wish I'd seen the Russia match to see what they were like sounds like they were fairly tasty from the stuff on here...

I'd just like to add that Podolski is seriously turd. And the ref is not very good.

Get In. That's more like it. First decent cross near Gomez and it's in, everything else was going towards Podolski who looks like he couldn't score in a brothel today.

Two fairly boring games yesterday I thought, though the first was far better than the Germany game.

Sneijder's ball to Huntelaar  Awesome.

Disappointed the Dutch didn't score, they sure had enough chances! It was very VERY quiet in Amsterdam last night & today. The unthinkable that the Dutch won't progress sinking in.

Didn't think the Germans looked that great though after being tipped as the potential winners. Really really hope they don't win it (but they probably will).

All in all, group B turned out to be extremely dull and hoping for a bit more excitement tonight from Spain.

I have connections to 3 teams, England (by birth) Holland (by residence) and Spain (my other half) so hope at least one of them makes it through to the later stages.

If I owned one, I'd probably put my house on Spain-Italy being a 0-0. Ireland to beat Croatia in a 3-2 thriller.

Group B started out fairly cagey, with the two favourites to qualify coming up against the two lesser teams determined to defend to the death and sneak a goal on the break. Both Germany and Netherlands looked a bit over confident and complacent I'll admit.

I'd expect a much better game between those two with the Dutch needing to win and the Germans knowing they'll need to work harder to win and wanting to start easing up through the gears.

Although I had a German great grandfather so I'm biased towards them.

If Ireland beat Croatia 3-2 in a thriller, I'll buy you that house to put on the other one being a 0-0. I know the games are the wrong way around, but you get my meaning.
